Hi!
It is Melbourne Cup weekend here. Today is not a holiday, but a lot of people sneak the day off. Not me though, I was loafing all day yesterday watching telly in bed. So today I am working on my bauble tutorial, projects for Book Three and a couple of other things. The boys have snuck a day off and have gone to the movies.
We had lovely torrential rain all weekend here, so it was very wise to just hang about and do nothing. Mum lent me some DVDs to watch (we post DVDs back and forward, as we like the same kind of stuff!), and I had a backlog of things that I had bought and not watched. So here is what I did…
I watched Madame Bovary (with Frances O’Connor) : lots of wobbling breasts and longing looks. Poor Mr Bovary, too. I watched The Moonstone (with Keely Hawes and Greg Wise) : so great! I watched this sad movie with Meryl Streep. And I am midway through watching Berkeley Square (which I am loving!) I love period dramas… and I love watching adaptations of classics. (Remember when we made this list?!) Cam, on the other hand, likes watching zombie movies. Chalk and cheese, dyathink?!
I did a bit of crocheting too, designing something cute for the next book. And I got lots of messages from people who have bought our latest book ‘Sew La Tea Do’ and have ALREADY made something from it! How great is that?! So great!!! Thanks for your messages!
We went to the market on Saturday morning and filled up the fridge with good stuff. We are a bit busy at the moment (apart from yesterday!), so we are using the slow cooker A LOT! It’s so easy to just make something in the morning and then get busy all day, knowing that the dinner will cook itself. I like that. We get snotty if there is no dinner. We have a dinner stand off, trying to work out who should cook… and what to cook. It is not fun. So the slow cooker has been helping to avoid those six o clock show-downs. Thank you slow cooker.
Have you had a nice weekend? What did you do? Do you have a slow cooker?
xx Pip

Glad to hear that your weekend was so productive!
Thank you so much for featuring Emily Haines- she’s so bluesy yet light. :0)
The bike is beautiful Pip. and so are your grannies. They really are stunning. We had one of those pots when I was little, a yellow one, and when I saw it here, I just had a rush of warm memories.
Hi, I really like your super-friendly blog. I also really like the font you’ve got for titles. It looks like my elementary school worksheets on how to write cursive. Any chance you know how I could get my hands on it?
What a bike! That thing is awesome!
Wow..what an amazing market find. I absolutly L-O-V-E Cathrineholm lotus pattern. Still yet to be as lucky as you and magically find them waiting for me. SOOOO jealous!!!
I love watching his cooking shows, I really liked watching his family move to France. I think his family are classic, especially Charlie. Except I just googled him to make sure his son’s name was Charlie and now they’re divorced 🙁 Sad.
