Hello

Mikes 2 – WIP.

October 4, 2007

Here’s some update pics from deep in the trenches of Mikes 2! I THINK we might be able to open late next week! We are almost finished with the fittings and painting.. and are nearly up to the fun part of decorating and beautifying!

Most excited.. eeeek!

Today we go in search of a counter/work bench…. and we have our racks on order – they are the wheely kind, so we can move them around if we need to.

It’s all shaping up nicely – can’t wait for you all to see! It’s sort of like a cleaner, neater version of the Bridge Road store – which was never really fitted out to be Mikes – and still holds the fittings from the previous streetwear store.
Ya know how i made that little t-shirt for Ari – well I made him some really cute skeleton skinnyleg pants yesterday… he’s such a little rock-star. Although, when I got to Holiday Program to pick him up, he was wrapping cereal boxes up in swathes of fabric.. so perhaps fashion mogul meets rock star – just to keep it all covered!

I’m ordering some Moo cards for the new store today…. and planning a window. And the new Mikes super-gorgeous logo is happening! We’ve been making 400 swing tags this week, packing badges, sewing purses, stitching skirts…. Lots of fresh books on order due for delivery in the next week… It’s all go!

And… if you look closely – you can see someone wrote something nice on the ‘S’ on the window! (And someone else tagged the front window with a sharp object resulting in a very nice scratchy signature – dorks!)

xx mikes

NY City Jewelry now brings you handmade antique duplicate dolls! All of our Dolls are completly handmade from authentic original molds. Unlike any others you may see, they are one of a kind.Once they are sold,
there are no others available. We have a small inventory, and will be selling original Antique French and German dolls, which are also only one of a kind. Our duplicate Dolls are handpainted with exact paints and colors used over 80 years ago.

oooh, there’s your pretty orange wall!
Did you know that orange in service environments means “sunlight, warm, open, friendliness”? A little something I learned in class yesterday which reminded me of you.

Please oh please oh please tell me there will be an apostrophe in the new logo! Otherwise editorial me will cringe inside. Or have to make you a special crafty one to add on.
