:: A Year Of Ethical Fashion: Vintage Hankies

Okay. Maybe you don’t think a hanky is a fashion item. You would be totally wrong because you haven’t seen THESE beautiful hankies I found at the op-shop. Well. You have now. But you know what I mean. These hankies are tres fashionable and extra gorgeous. Are they Tammis Keefe? If they aren’t they are of a similar era. They are super lovely and while they might be particularly nice for dabbing tears or curing sniffles, I think I might frame them and preserve their beauty.

I’ve been doing lots of op-shopping this year in my quest for ethical fashion. I had forgotten how much I enjoy it. Not only have I been picking up the odd frock or cardigan for my wardrobe, I’ve been finding heaps of cool music too. (You can see that here.)

I’ll show you the dresses I’ve found next week (if I remember to photograph them!) But for now, here are the hankies.

In other news, I’m madly finishing projects and pictures for my book. We are shooting in March so I need to get a blinking wriggle on and get the last bits and pieces done. My book is REALLY different to my other books. Prepare yourself, if you are into my books. You might freak out a bit, but it’s for the best. It’s DEFINITELY got craft projects, that’s for sure, but there is more than that. You will have to wait and see…! Gulp!

It’s been a weird week. Kate’s tough time is all kinds of unsettling. Then, this afternoon, Rin’s grandpa died after a long illness. He was my very first father-in-law. A relief that he’s not sick anymore, but always so sad/strange/hollow when people leave us, right?

Anyhoo. What have you been doing? I hope not sniffling or tearing up too much. If you are I pass you these virtual hankies. I hope life is treating you nicely.
