No thrifting! Just painting and changing locks and getting signs put up and stuff like that!
We even lit a fire in the upstairs fireplace for the boys after school. It was lovely – despite them wanting to fly paper planes into the inferno. Definately NOT allowed, boys!
Things are coming along nicely! Kirsty painted the door RED for us – i think it might need 28 coats to make it look the red that we all like! We painted the front of the store – and inside the window… and lots of general busying about!
And we found this cute sticker on a post outside the shop too.
We are liking our neighbourhood more and more – every 10 minutes someone wanted to say ‘hello’ and ask what sort of shop we were opening… so very welcoming!
And Julia Zemiro walked past and smiled at us painting in the window – so that is definately a good omen!
Yipp-to-the-peee! Can’t wait to seeeeee what it will all look like in the end!
On the door I wrote in Sharpie – ‘number 63.. it will be.. meet me at mikes’ – I love a rhyme.
xx mikes
ps – still would love to hear from any quiet and shy new crafters who might want to make some things for Mikes! We open in just under 3 weeks if all goes to schedule – so send us an eeeee-mail!

Welcome to the neighbourhood! You’ll fit right in with all the local crafty and vintage shops – much love, Nicole from Circa Vintage Clothing.
