Ah.. hurrah! My tooth still hurts and our lovely Max is now sick with some gastric bug too (the same one Ari had on Thursday)! It doesn’t rain it pours – if I am unwell, then be sure that someone else in my house will be sick too, just to stop me feeling too sorry for myself! Anyway, all is glamour in our house, with dressing gowns and panadeine forte and lucozade. Yippee!
Next weekend we’ll have the keys to our new shop! Now that is something to celebrate.. and then begins the excitement of transforming it into a gorgeous shrine to craft and colour-fulness! (is that a word?) For those of you who want to know.. it’s Number 63 – Brunswick Street – Fitzroy! It’s up the Gertrude End of Brunswick St – right next to the Brotherhood of St Laurence, and over the road from these lovely ladies!
This weekend I’m tending the ill and trying to get my house sorted out a bit – and have some sewing to do as well.. so it’s onward and upward!
Lara’s fabric is whizzing out the door – so be sure to let me know if you want some – I can put it aside so you don’t miss out! Also – we’re still looking for dressmakers and skirtmakers for the new Mikes – let us know if you fit the bill and would like to make 4 or 5 garments!
OK – that’s it for now.. These gorgeous illustrations are from the Ladybird book ‘Shopping With Mother’ – first published in 1958. So put your coats and hats and gloves and t-bar shoes on and get to Coles!
xx mikes

OH, so left behind, when i visited your blog last night, it only showed the 300th post & i was like “oh, 300 & suddenly nuffin” & here you were all along. Must catch up. Well big batch of Edna&Alice May love coming your way tomorrow, will advertise your new address a.s.a.p. & when you are opening etc. Had to hold up the order as i have lots of surprises, goodies & freebies to sample in your new store. Can’t help myself, you’re too sweet & too . . . you!! Huge market day, so the night is devoted to my super Drew. Speaking of dentists, i took the 4 children to the dentist on Monday, just a check up. We don’t have radiators, as you can imagine in Darwin, they have a Japanese zen garden & fish pond in between reception & the dental hygenist room. Oh la la, what a thrill for the children, as always, up to their shoulders in fish water. Even more exciting than the coveted ‘free’ tooth brush, all included in the price of course. I know you love our Fin, guess what – she has a twin tooth in the same place her twin is missing a tooth. Spooky!! Hope your toof ache is better, love to the boys, poor buggers. Love Posie
Oh Pip, it sounds like my worst nightmare…sickies & being sick.I really feel for you in your moment of suffering.EEEErrrGGGHHHH.
You sound as if you’re being exceptionally gracious under difficult circumstances. Buck Up!!!Such a wacky expletive isn’t it? BUCK(?)up? Like a horse?
i hope all’s well in the Mikes house.
and looks like exciting times with the shops!
