:: Good Stuff Wishlist : Yvonne Adele (High School Bestie!)

Now, I am asking lots of people I know and admire to write their Christmas wish lists, just like the ones in my Good Stuff Guide. Think of this as a Good Stuff Guest Book with a super Christmassy feel!

If you have been reading my blog for a long time, you will know that Yvonne and I have been friends since we were 13. We grew up together and we know MOST things about each other… and our kids have grown up together too.

We work in the same orbit, with the same people now, but on our own different projects. I live in the inner suburbs (where Yvonne USED to live) and she lives in the eastern suburbs (where I used to live.) Our lives follow lots of parallels but we are total opposites in so many ways too! I am super patient and she is ‘Hurry UP!’ I am a bit of a wallflower, to be honest, and she is the life of the party. I am pondery philosophical. She is cut-to-the-chase pragmatic. Same, same…. totes different! It makes sense to us!

Friendships are often like that, right? I think so. I will stop blabbing and hand you over to her, (because I’m bucking my wallflower persona in philosophical ways!)

Here’s Yvonne:

I’m the one on Facebook, Twitter, my blog, the rooftops in October shouting : “OMG SUPERMARKETS have Christmas items out – are you kidding me right now?!!!” Look, it takes all types and I’m the type who would rather leave it than take it. Christmas. I even groan when the TV show I’m watching has a Christmas special. I go through the motions ‘but the kids love it!’ and I even ask my fellow mums ‘finished your christmas shopping yet?’. I do an evil secret happy dance when they ask me and I haven’t even started. I choose my retailers based on who has the latest cut off for online orders delivered in time for Christmas day.

Just as I love to have a whinge every year, without fail around 15 December it hits me. Christmas washes over me like a huge warm bath I succumb to. I put on the flashing Christmas earrings, make iced ninja-bread (item 6, below!), take great pleasure in selecting the perfect gifts for my special people and start feeling a growing elation at the downtime about to hit. I create a mix tape of Christmas songs, pull out the Christmas DVDs and become a MELF (mum elf).

I am very lucky to have a husband who is super good at choosing gifts so I’ve never had to leave hints or buy my own gift, wrap it and put it under the tree for myself, yay! If money were no object and I really could click my fingers and choose anything I’d love to see, here goes:

I have taken a keen interest in photography this year and I love the idea of actually taking some proper dedicated time to learn what I’m doing. I do fill my life with more experiences than things so this one would be perfect.
That said, I’ll be needing a gorgeous camera bag which doubles as a super stylish handbag! I love 3 Annies bags, especially the Audrey Lu Tamarillo Red $269

One of my favourite things to do in the world is boxing training. I go 2-3 times a week and train with a professional at Shadows in Eltham. I am not a fitness freak and I’ve never played sport but I find boxing training to be like a sort of dance. It keeps me fit mind, body and spirit. I’d love to get one of these installed outside my house somewhere. I just LOVE the rhythm of the speedball!
