Crochet. Ha! Surprise. (not.) Loving Le Crochet even more this week : hence the Wild Fings and the cherries (above)
Lamb in the oven, roasting slowly since 2.30…. I pounded some pesto with lots of extra fresh garlic and olive oil and salt… Rubbed it all over and into the oven she went. We’re having home-made cannelloni stuffed with ricotta, spinach and baby peas too… and some dinner rolls are rising as we speak. Before you slap me, it’s really because we’ve been so busy lately, we have been throwing together meals and not taking much time with things… so today I am trying to make a special effort. I think it helps to relieve the stress and make everyone feel happy… and Cam cooked last night, so it’s my turn!
Sweet, warm, soft dinner rolls – recipe here
Jane Eyre. I know, enough already… but I finally finished it (which always makes me sad… finishing a good book, I mean!) It’s one of my very faves.
New Zealand’s Next Top Model. Sorry. I love trashy tv… it’s one of my failings… and NZNTM did not disappoint. I must say, though, that the girl who is vomiting and shaking a lot might not really be over her methadone addiction and probably shouldn’t be scrutinized quite so publicly.
Making stuff. I’m really having lots of fun ideas lately and I have made lots of cute things for the new book that I can’t show you… and basically I’m feeling really excited about being creative lately!
Vintage homewares. I’m totally coveting a lampshade. I think I must buy it. It’s super dooper hot and I CAN NOT STOP thinking about it.
The Flip Video Camera. Flip Australia gave me (and some other very social bloggers!) a new Flip Mino. They didn’t ask me to review it for my readers or anything, but I think they were pretty sure that all who received them would love them and would find it hard to resist telling everyone exactly that. I do love it*. I spent hours filming and uploading videos of the other Pip’s wedding on the weekend. Ace fun. Hot.

Extra nice people being sick.
Earthquakes and tsunamis. Natural and un-natural disasters.
Wearing your pyjamas out in public. It’s a slippery slope from there a wild-eyed public head-shave, I think. And yes that does say PUBLIC!!
Crutches and sprained ankles. Yes. CRUTCHES!!
Okay… this one is embarrassing… but what is it with people who fart in op-shops?! I mean do they walk around and feel all comforted and nostalgic and calm and then suddenly ‘BERTTT!’?? I don’t LIKE it. It is a bit smelly and people like me have to shop with our mouths closed… or try to escape the blighted area for fear that someone might think WE did it!! I don’t want to shop with my mouth clamped closed. I might suffocate. And I don’t want to get that smell in my mouth either. Don’t be selfish people… if you need to do that, please go outside and face your cheeks to the wind and AWAY FROM THE CUTE THINGS! Gosh. That ticks me off. No way is that hot. Nope.
Jon and Kate’s constant blabbing to the media. Oh icy cold, methinks. Brr.
Overly bouncy trampolines. Not hot at all. I have enough to worry about on the freeway without factoring in wayward trampolines. Very not hot.
Being woken up every single night when the pub closes at 1am by people smashing about… And also on Sunday night when the pub puts their bin out at 1am… up the lane… over the cobblestones… huge bin full of bottles. Not very hot. It’s that same foggy feeling you get when you have little babies waking you all the time… only they are not babies, despite the bottles and the late night wailing, they are GROWN UPS. Stop it please. Go home.
People peering over our back fence. Not hot. Yes. PEERING!! Much nicer places to peer at, I think… go find one of those. No. Not peeing. They do that on our fence.
Thank you for listening. More hot and not at Loobylu!
xx Pip
* What I liked about the Flip was: that it’s ready to go with the push of two buttons: that it stays charged for a VERY LONG TIME: that you can record up to 60mins of footage: that it comes with software built in to the camera and will plug straight into the USB of any computer with no cables or annoying stuff like that: the sound is surprising good : it’s really small : you can plug it into your telly (it comes with those cables) : you can playback and delete videos instantly : easy to use editing software : one click to upload to Youtube or the like : you can pull a few short videos together to make a ‘film’ and I like the way you can drag a snapshot from your video and save it as a .jpg file. I’ll tell you more as I learn more, but we’ve been having heaps of fun recording mindless drivel, as well as some cuter stuff! I’ll make some lil movies for you guys to see soon too. I will.
