Lucky I read a lot of blogs. Otherwise we might have missed this important occasion! Golly. That would be no good at all.
Today is International Rock Flipping Day. Yes. That’s right. Entering it’s third year, today is the day when you get to go outside and Flip A Rock. Heaps of other people all around the world will be doing the exact same thing in their neighbourhood, where ever that may be. How cool is that? I wonder what will be under all those rocks? Be careful to put the rock back nicely afterwards, exactly as it was, without squishing the critters underneath. Also – beware of scary, bitey creatures, won’t you?
I found out about this at Unplug Your Kids – and you can find heaps more info over here too. Find photos of what was under rocks in 2007 and 2008 at the Flickr group for IRFD! And don’t forget to flip a rock… even if it’s a pet rock!
