royal melbourne show 2008 047

Hi peeps. Hello! Hope you are all well! I am pretty good, myself. All sorts of stuff going on, I can scarcely catch my breath at times. Ever feel like that?! I’m crocheting and reading ‘Jane Eyre‘ to keep things on an even keel. It seems to be working out okay so far. I’ve made my room all cute so that it’s a nice retreat in the evening. So that’s good too.

I’ve been working on projects for the new book. It’s really great fun coming up with new ideas and working out the best way to execute them. I’m feeling like I am on schedule, but I’m sure it will be a rush to the finish line, as books often are.

Les kids are good and having fun times with their friends. Max and Ari are definitely ready for the holidays, and we are VERY MUCH looking forward to going to the show again. We’ve been saving all year so that we can go wild in the CWA tent, the showbag halls and on the rides (not me for the rides please!).

Miss Rin is looking for a new house at the moment, which is tres stressful, apparently. Poor Miss Rin.

Our fridge broke. So a new one will arrive tomorrow. Definitely not in the rainy day budget. Grr. Never mind, our new one used to sit outside as it was too big for the kitchen. So we’re getting a smaller indoors one. Should be perfect for rainy days like this – was always SUCH a pain getting soaked whilst trying to retrieve a piece of cheese or a glass of wine.

I emptied out all the subscriptions in my Google Reader a few weeks ago. So I’m slowly adding all the ones that I miss, all over again. I think it’s really good to keep the old Reading under control and fresh and full of your nearest and dearest, as well as some new inspiration.

I’ve started adding lots of cool stuff over on our new Forum. I want it to be a really great information sharing site, so I’m trying to update each day with new things you might like or need to know. You can join if you would like, or just read and don’t join! If you become a member you can add your own lists of great links, or post about what you are up to… or ask for help with a craft project or sourcing supplies. It’s working out just great.

Tonight we have Brown Owls. Yay! We are making penpal kits, to encourage us to write more real letters. I’m looking forward to doing a bit of cutting and swapping and packing. I’ve been printing out heaps of cool labels and things for us to divide up and take home. You can find those here.

And ‘Softies for Mirabel‘ has begun, as you might know, so I’m looking forward to seeing what everyone makes and getting those softies to those who are ready to hug them!

And then there are 87 other things on the list for this week. I’ve been free-styling some cute crochet motifs. I will try and write them up in the next couple of week so you might have a go at them. If you would like.

The shop has been pretty quiet, so we’ve been working on things for Christmas and updating the online store and things like that. We’re selling lots of BIKES at the moment, which is cool. Mike’s Bikes.

Other points to note::
I am still eating a square of Lindt Pear Intense chocolate most nights. I am still skipping breakfast (naughty). I am still enjoying lots of chai and cups of coffee at Radio. I am still liking tomato juice way too much for it to be normal. I am still tired of this weather and hoping for balmier days (but not too hot) and rain of an evening. If that’s okay. I have some goccoed hankies to mail yet, if you are waiting for yours I am nearly there! I am enjoying the Creature Comforts blog a lot lately… and some cool European ones that I can’t understand too.

Hope you are well, reader. I do. Look forward to chatting soon. Write soon, won’t you?

xx Pip
