House
I don’t live in a house.
I live above the shop.. it’s sort of like a crooked room-after-room apartment kind of set up. It’s not small – we have two living rooms and 3 bedrooms plus the usual kitchen, laundry and bathroom. But it’s poky. We have no storage at all.. so everything is artfully concealed in lovely vintage suitcases and drawers and stand-alone cupboards. OK.. not that well concealed actually.. there are things all over the place, but all the things are just lovely.
I’m thinking we need to make plans to actually live in house soon.. although we are being seduced by the idea of a bit of a warehouse/studio space kind of set up too.
I love other peoples houses too. Especially those featured in interior design mags.. I love to see how other people live. I always try to peer right into the photographed rooms to spot the little things.. i don’t really care about what sort of couch they have.. but I’ll be completely determined to see what ornaments they have perched on their window sill.
I like dollshouses too. Anything in miniature just makes me go all warm and fuzzy. We have 6 dollshouses in our shop – and they look lovely stacked up with books and softies and things.

Home sweet home hey?? I have a lovely big tropical tree house, alas, it’s not ours, it’s the Army’s. I left my parents home to get married & have lived in Defence Housing ever since, sigh. It’s adequate & obviously an easy choice as we criss cross Australia with 4 children in tow. Alas, i’d love my own home one day, to paint a wall, decorate properly, maybe by the time i’m 35?? I also check every detail of homes in homey magazines, nothing worse than fake trinkets – like the African artifacts you can buy from homeware stores – what is with that?? Isn’t it better to say “yes, that ornament was from Kenya” than “oh, i picked it up in a Freedom sale”. Dags!! Love Posie
Pip – this is re your thrift purchases – have you seen how much atomics are going for on ebay (australia) – omg I think you may have the bargain of the century – Mary
