The Rock Follies… for my Mum! Happy Mother’s Day Mum!
Although I spent my early Pip years in Tasmania, I also spent part of my childhood living in the far north west of Australia (in Port Hedland). There were no commercial television stations up there, so we watched videos and the trusty ABC. Not such a bad thing, in hindsight, because we were exposed to (mostly) high quality telly. Like The Rock Follies, for instance!
We watched this show OVER and OVER, (naughtily taped on the trusty VHS) and we absolutely LOVED it! What an era. The hairdos. The make up. The tight pants. The lack of brassieres. Thanks Mum!
The Band Who Wouldn’t Die
Tim Curry’s Street Signs

A bit of a boobie clip from the series
Stairway
A really cute fan site lists all the episodes, songs and heaps more. Both series are available on DVD and CD too, if you are so inclined.

i saw the shows got the records fab .
I used to watch & love this show, I thought Rula Lenska was so elegant & the song "little ladies" would get stuck in my head for days (just as it is now!) fun to remember.
I love the Tim Curry clip – thanks!
I LOVED the Rock Follies and Follies of ’77. I have the records in the spare room. I love that you can actually hear all the words in the songs. It was a show for its time, the clothes, the plot, the women. Thanks for reminding me!!!
