I had to laugh when I read your comment on my blog yesterday Pip. Alas – it all makes sense now.

Oh, Pip, i can see you packing your bags to follow Angelique’s tip on those Marcel Marlier books in Noumea!! J’ai mal a la tete (I have a headache) so thought i’d pop by before the school run/ walk/ crawl with dark sunglasses on today, only to find you torturing me with HH. See, as the tom boy to the princess ballerina big sister, i had to admire her HH sewing machine, pillow slips, wall hangings, nighties, singlet & knickers sets. All it reminds me of is her saying “no guy will ever like a sporty girl like you”. Well, could my life be more pink now?? Plus my children are prettier than hers, ner!! Rest my noggen, love Posie

Here in Noumea Holly Hobbie hasn’t gone out of fashion. The french are still publishing new books of her antics with her friends. I will post some pics on my blog site. The other thing to tell is Marcel Marlier books are freely available too. I had one as a little girl and didn’t realise who it was until I came here.
    Cheers.

I had a giant copy of this pic on my wall when I was little. My Dad made me an outline of the illustration so I could colour it in myself.
I also had sheets to match.
And still I have grown up into a normal-ish member of society.
Maybe all of us crafty girls were hit with the Holly Hobbie stick at a defining moment.

Hahaha she is?! Holly used to be on my curtains and quilt when I was a kid.

Hey thanks for the comment those tram seat hoggers are total losers. Can’t believe they left you to faint at 8 months preggas. I am shocked.

Hey I must get along to a stitching night sometime soon – when’s the next one??
