We would like to announce our new craft night to be held on Sunday 23rd of September at 7.30pm.
It’s a ‘Share n Swap’ Night!
Bring your favourite vintage, contemporary or japanese craft books along to share (be sure you have your name in them in case of duplicate copies). Bring five vintage pillowcases (pre 1980) to swap! Cost for the evening will be $15 and this will cover refreshments and snacks – think cups of tea, champagne, cupcakes and lamingtons!
There will be plenty of ace prizes and 20% off all Mikes stock.
A flickr group awaits here to store all your ‘i-made-this-from-a-pillowcase’ lovely things!
First in best dressed! Your booking is confirmed once you have paid! All payments via paypal – mike(at)meetmeatmikes(dot)com is our paypal address! Come and meet some lovely crafty gals!
xx mikes

right I’m moving to melbourne…no wait I’m swapping lives with my single baby free sister who lives WALKING distance from your shop! yes that is what I will do until you open up near us sydney siders
Oh, I am a pillowcase NUT. I’ve had two articles published in ReadyMade magazine – the first on how to make a skirt or apron out of a pillowcase in issue 2 or 3 (and I’m photographed in it – back when I had super-short hair) and the second on how to make an emergency guest kit out of pillowcases. I use them as fabric sources for a quilt I’m working on because they’re so cheap at op shops and come in such interesting patterns. And the ones that don’t get crafted form a mismatched lovely family on my bed! But I could never give them up in a swap – they are far too good.
Hi Pip,
Thanks for the comment on the little lady badges! I do prefer the little cards and have been doing them for a little while now, but for some reason both times I came in to see you guys I didn’t have them, which is a shame.
The shop is looking great, I love all the fabric and buttons!
can that be equivalent 5 pillowcases? e.g. 10 half pillowcases (not that I have enough for either) ?
i am in anyhow. just have to visit more op shops by then.
sign me up, sister, sign. me. up!
