I’m sorry but WTF? That is not hilarious or lovely or amusing or clever or any of those things. This ad is overtly endorsing violence against women which is seriously not ok.
Thanks Pip for putting this up to remind us how far we’ve come and yay to all the people who fought the industry to ensure we don’t have to see this kind of rubbish anymore. This is not to say we don’t still have sexist advertising but at least it’s not overtly violent anymore (mostly..).

How things have changed. I laughed and felt repulsion all at the same time. A marketing joke appropriate of a bygone era would no longer stand up in the PC world of today. Gotta appreciate though the play on words.

Oh I think its hilarious and lovely! What a neat ad! I do love that old ads had about 3 paragraphs of text, they wanted you to read it not glance at it!
