Oh my gosh. I am a bit excited, because my pals at
Mollie Makes are releasing a NEW magazine. Isn’t that kinda amazing? I think it is, because traditional magazines have been tipping over all over the place. I guess that’s part of why
Mollie Makes (and now The Simple Things!) are doing (going to do!) so well. They may tackle traditional, simple ideas, but they twist those ideas in beautiful ways that delight and surprise. And that is why we love them.
The Simple Things will debut in September. It is my kind of magazine. Here is what Lyndsey from Mollie Makes/The Simple Things sent me in her cute email offering cups of tea and introductions!
///// The Simple Things is a new monthly print magazine celebrating the things that matter most. It’s about knowing the greatest rewards come from the simplest things, that there’s no satisfaction like that at the end of a long muddy walk, no pink so pretty as freshly-cut rhubarb, no perfume to compare with your own home-grown flowers. It’s about making warm inviting homes – big or small – sharing food with friends, growing your own vegetables. It’s about shopping for a coffee table only to find you’re happy with a tea chest. It’s keeping your dad’s old typewriter just because it’s beautiful. It’s an empty beach on a Sunday morning. It’s backpedalling. /////
Doesn’t this sound a lot like us? A cute mag about making do, being creative and being yourself. I have no idea what could be better than that!
Be yourself. Have a nice time. Do the simple things. I like.
Thank you Lyndsey and Mollie Makes for letting us all know about this! Thanks for sharing it with our peeps!
Follow The Simple Things on Twitter!
xx Pip
PS: I’m a bit excited about a project I’m working on with Mollie Makes too. Eep!
severely, insanely excited by this news! <3 mollie makes is my fave!
Looks great, but I'd love to see a magazine like this (or as brilliant as mollie makes) that is based here in Aus
Will be looking out for that in September 🙂 I just got my little crochet flower from one of there mag's I am going to attempt to make it ( after so many months of saying I will) so off to follow your tutorial now 🙂
Oh it looks lovely, thank you for letting us know Pip!!
My girls and I love Mollie Makes, but this sounds even better. There does seem to be a movement towards rejecting new, fake, faster; for make do & mend, real experiences and slowing down enough to enjoy the simpler things in life. It can only be good!
Looking forward to picking up a copy of this! Congratulations to their team on keeping print alive! sue x
This is so exciting, it looks awesome!
Looks amazing – Im moving away from the city to the country next week for exactly those reasons. So very timely for me!
Totally my kind of mag! How exciting! Thanks for letting us know Pip, your the bestest xx
It sounds lovely! I think one of my semi secret ambitions is to one day get a mention in MM 🙂
