Hello

Words and Pictures – Cosy (or Cozy!)

March 16, 2009

via

Did you join in on Words and Pictures last week? Gee. I must admit I was fairly gobsmacked by the number of people that DID join in! I figured I’d get 3 contenders – but it was around 30! Fantastic and unexpected!

I think we’ve all really enjoyed popping around to the participating blogs and reading everyone’s thoughts on School Lunches (which was the theme last week). It’s been so great to see interesting, personal stuff – a nice break from the ‘skimming the surface’ that we’re sometimes guilty of in Blogland. Some of the writing was funny, some familiar, some poignant, but all of it was real. I like real. You guys are great.

This week, the theme is COSY.

You can post a photo or drawing – and you can write some words too, if you would like to. I like the words myself. Don’t feel that you need to write HEAPS. Don’t feel that it needs to be perfect. Just do it your own way and post about what cosy means to you. It might be a memory or an image. It might be a little ‘how to’. You might detail something you’d long forgotten – or something more recent. Perhaps something you like to read or do to feel cosy. It’s really up to you. Interpret it in your own unique way. Dig a little bit and see what you come up with.

You can sign up below, if you would like to join in – then we can come and read your cosy thoughts. You can join in any time between now and Monday night. And a nod to Anne Lamott – our team mascot – and author of Bird by Bird.

xx Pip

Growing up my favorite Aunt had this beautiful Asian Baby made from chalk,it was from the 1920’s. I loved “Baby”.I would spend rainy afternoons chatting with dear “Baby” and we would have tea parties.I never was brave enough to move “Baby” from his spot in the corner of my Aunts room but is was such a nice quiet spot it did not matter.
The first Christmas my now husband and I were living together my Aunt gave me “Baby” as a housewarming/Christmas gift.I cried, she remembered how much I had loved him as a child.
“Baby” now sits on the bookshelf in my living room.I still some times ask him “What do you think”Baby”?
I read an article about the Buddist thought of giving away the thing you love the most. The thing that came to my mind at that moment was”Baby” my most beloved treasure. The only person at that moment I would give “Baby” to was the Dali Lama himself. That is how much pleasure I get from his sweet face.Kind of corny I know. But there is just something about “Baby”.

I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don’t know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.

getting cosy is the best thing anyone could ever do..if yer not cosy then what are you?

    uncomfortable.
(this applies to all living things and objects i think, as well as social situations and emotional jargonings)
