Hello

Mag Love

July 21, 2007

Well.. of course I was the only person in the world to NOT realise that Harry Potter was released this morning… Anyway.. I had made my solo pilgrimage to Borders to pick up Domino and Blueprint magazines.. and got swept up in the excitement – after standing in the queue for 20 minutes – and grabbed a copy of the new HP with $5 owl plushie too…

On the way home I swung into the Salvation Army and picked up an old Gourmet mag, an old Martha Stewart Living circa 2002 and a floral tea-towel. Plus the ingredients for a quickie coq au vin with mash for dinner tonight – not from the Salvation Army – from Safeway. Plus some smoked trout dip and rye bread.. for Saturday afternoon snacks.

I have lots of sewing to do today – but I need some red and yellow based fabrics.. so perhaps i will scoot over to Savers later – when Ari gets back from ‘Transformers’ and IF Max will get his nose out of the Harry Potter book.

Here are some nice scans of today’s mag booty.

xx mikes

PS – be sure to check out our competition post of a few days ago… we will run it for another few days.. so why not spin a little cousiny story yourself?

pps – to the lovely lady who bought two tutti-fruiti cushions and a kwoozy scarf this morning.. sorry I missed you.. I was at Borders with all the little wizards and witches.

ppps – if you look closely at the Martha scan with the cat – there is a cute little pattern to make lovely jingle balls… or apples.. or whatever you might like to transform them into… be sure your seam allowance is exactly the same on each Ball!

Oh, wish i had time to read my Shop Til You Drop magazine, neverlone commit to Harry Potter. I’ll get Brigh to read it & give me the highlights. I miss you, i wish i could pop by. Canberra will be closer won’t it?? I’ll kidnap Peggy-Jean & bring her too. Had a day of sewing, lovely, the children saw Shrek The Third with Daddy, love him. All going well until Brigh had lost her bag (why can’t children think outside of school terms??) then the twins thought it would be really funny to hide – in a cinema!! You know it would have been Fin’s idea!! 4 children scattered in a dark cinema, all came home smiling. We love Coq Au Vin, so easy & tastey. Love you, love Posie
