Do you remember a while back I told you about The Little Paris Kitchen? Well, I ordered a copy from Readings Books and it just came in! We tripped over there today and picked it up, then took it to lunch at Tiamo.
I had Penne Amatriciana and Cam had Spaghetti Marinara and The Little Paris Kitchen had garlic bread, which seemed mildly appropriate.
We flipped through the pages and lost count of how many recipes they must have had to cook for these photographs. It’s funny, because when you have shot your own book, you know how much time and effort goes into the photography. I am guessing this book must have taken a couple of weeks to shoot, judging by the amount of recipes… and then there all the lovely incidental shots. Ye gads.
I can’t wait to cook some of these dishes, as they are the comforting, cosy kind that I like to make on cooler days. I especially love vegetables and there are a lot of vegetarian options betwixt these pages.
I think this book is gorgeous. You should buy it, like I did. And hopefully you will be able to see Rachel Khoo’s TV series (of the very same name) in Australia some time soon. Fingers crossed. Toes crossed. Eyes crossed. Choux buns crossed, even!
Do you like French food?
xx Pip
PS : I took these photos with a phone I am reviewing. It’s the Samsung Galaxy Note (I have it for a couple of weeks on loan.) I asked Samsung if I could review this phone because I am really a total tech dork and I saw that Pottymouthmama had one and I wanted to have a turn too!
I must say I am LOVING playing with it. It is speeeeedy quick, with screens loading super dooper fast (much faster than my iPhone!) It has an 8 mega pixel camera (just like the iPhone) and a lovely big screen, so it’s quite a joy to take photos with! This phone is a sort of hybrid/changeling. It’s part smart phone, part tablet. It’s a lot bigger than an iPhone, but quite satisfying to grasp. It’s kind of showy, and I like that!
It runs on Android. You can use it with a stylus, or without, and now that you can Instagram on Android (Gingerbread) and I think it’s a pretty awesome alternative to the iPhone, if you are that way inclined. I really want one now! And I don’t even need a new phone. Geesh. (I was not paid to write this review. And I didn’t get any free stuff whatsoever from Samsung or their PRs. I just really like this phone and thought you might want to know about it too!)

Dear Pip I have a few of your beautiful books. Thank you! Can you please give me some advise on buying a sewing machine. I am of medium level skill and have been making some clothes and crafting. My very very old machine died and I am after a mid priced machine. Any ideas what is good value and works well. I love the look of the new Singer Limited Edition but is it practical or just looks pretty. Regards Toni
I ordered that book last night too.
The series has just been on over here in UK and I only caught the last one, it's a visual and edible delight and i had to have more!

There's a slightly less favourable (but very funny!) review of The Little Paris kitchen here (http://pipcooksthebooks.tumblr.com/post/19573488566/the-little-paris-kitchen-by-rachel-khoo-the-review) – not my blog, your post just reminded me of it and I wanted to share!
And I was tempted by that phone recently but went for something else. I'm very intrigued by the stylus though…
ooh I've been watching this show! i love that she makes the most of her tiny kitchen and makes it all look seamless, and the food yummy!
oh and that red lipstick too!!
Thanks for a glimpse into the book Pip. Buying it now! 🙂
Food? Phones? I was way too bedazzled by your pretty nail polish!! Great colours 🙂
