:: Doing Things, Seeing Stuff, Frying Stuff, Making Stuff

April 30, 2012

Things I am looking at and things I am doing…
I’ve been crocheting this cute beginning of a potholder. I’ve been looking at that cute invitation from The Hungry Workshop.  I’ve been wondering where this cute bottle originated from (Ari bought it at The Camberwell Market.) I’ve been LIKING these cute mugs that Kirsty sent me! THANK YOU Kirst!
Also…
I’m working very hard on lots of great projects. I’m trying to remember to leave the house for non-essential things, too. I’ve been eating delicious salads from the CERES box.  I’ve been wishing for Condensed Milk Chai. I’ve been drinking lots of tea.
We’ve been eating lots of delicious meals, especially the non-healthy but amazing Fried Chicken from The NY Times Cookbook. AND Max turned 16 yesterday! SIXTEEN! We celebrate with homemade Parmas for lunch (with Rin & Joe) and Boeuf Bourguignon with Aligot for dinner. OMG. Bourguignon is the hardest word to spell. Is that even the right way to spell it?! I do not know!
And it’s quite COLD, isn’t it?!  I have been falling asleep on the couch under a blanket most nights, rugged up in front of the telly watching good stuff.  Do you ever do that?
It’s not just TV that is making me sleepy and cross-eyed.  I am obsessed with watching Lady The Osprey at Loch of the Lowes, too. I like to watch between 6.30 and 7.30 pm Melbourne time, because that’s usually when her boyfriend visits and they take turns sitting on the eggs and snacking on loch-y morsels.
How about YOU?! What is it that you are seeing and doing? Do you like salads? Or fried chicken? Or blankets?

xx Pip

Gosh how lovely that you are taking an interest in the Osprey. I used to live just along the road from the loch. It really is a rather special place. Isn't the world small.
    Have a beautiful day,

You must be having quite the colourful day. I love those mugs Pip! My grandma would give each of her 27 grandchildren (yeah, can you imagine having that many grandchildren?) a mug just like those, every Christmas filled with lollies and underwear inside it. She used to to knit lots of blankies too, she was very cute!

I'm snuggling under my knitted logcabin blanket, watching "Men in Trees" reruns and reading the second book in the Game of Thrones series. It's getting cold here in NZ too (low of 2 deg C overnight, eek). Planning my first attempt at a knitted sweater for my daughter. Love your new blog setout.

Fried chicken?! Yes please!! Salads?! YES!!!

I feel we dont have enough lap blankets in house & my boys are forever bringing their giant doonas out to the living rooms. I need more blankets!!!

I am trying to make a sourdough starter. My first one was a GIANT fail but I got some rye flour today & I am going to keep trying until I get it right!!!

Oh man, blankets. On my couch now I can count 6 blankets.
You can never have too many. They make the world go round (well perhaps not – but they do keep it nice and snuggly)
    hurrah! blankets!
