Hello Pip-Life

:: I DO (mostly) Love The School Holidays

April 11, 2012

Yeesh.  It is the school holidays. I DO love the school holidays because it’s so nice to NOT have to drag the kids out of the house at an early hour. I DO love the school  holidays because it’s so nice to all hang out together. I DO love the school holidays because my kids tend to sleep in quite late and the quiet morning times are a teensy bit extended. I DO love the school holidays because these ones are Eastery and Easter is my very favourite time of year. I DO love the school holidays because sometimes we cook a nice lunch AND a nice dinner. I DO love the school holidays because the kids can say up later and I don’t feel like a bunchy old nag in the evenings.  I DO love the school holidays because the roads are quieter and there are kids hanging out in my neighbourhood.  I DO love the school holidays because there are no notes, forms, plates to share etc etc.  I DO love the school holiday. I DO.
But I don’t love ‘What are we going to do today?’  I don’t love that.  I don’t mind it on day one or day two or day three or day four. But by the second week it hurts my brain.  Sorry.  I am being tetchy about the ‘What are we going to do today?’  I don’t want to be an amusement park.  I am SUCH a cow, aren’t I?  Geesh. *punches self in arm*  Stop being a cow, Pip.  Sorry dudes.
On another note : YOU will LOVE this.
Also : please please read Eden’s blog posts about her trip to Niger
And : how good is the new season of Mad Men?! Oh MY!
xx Pip

My girls learned at a very young age that "I'm bored" was an open invitation for spring cleaning… and it didn't have to be spring.

Exactly Pip. Love it but sometimes want to scream – get off that screen!!! (actually I do scream that!) But gosh holidays are sooo much nicer than real life! x

It seems that once kids hit high school, they can't amuse themselves out of site from a tv/computer screen. Well, mine anyway. Nearly over then you can relish the quietness during school hours.

Sigh. Cool blog. In another life, BK (before kids), I went to Niger too. Awesome.
