Today we spent the day setting up for the Meet Me at Mike’s Garage Sale! It’s on tomorrow from 12 til 4pm. At our shop. 63 Brunswick Street. Fitzroy! After that, at 8.30pm, The Bluebottles are playing in our shop, too! So it’s a big fun day for us! We are thinking it will be the last day of this version of Meet Me At Mike’s! OMG! (Also, did you know you can lease our window in 2012? For a creative project or promotion?! It is true! Message me for details : it’s a snip at $250 a week!) But that’s not the Good Thing, good as it is.
My Good Thing for today was packing a picnic lunch for Max and his friends. I made a potato tortilla, sliced it up and stuffed it into soft rolls with mayo and lots of salt and pepper. I wrapped them in paper and stowed them in the picnic bag. I also packed Zooper Doopers. Chili chips. Chocolate Money. And Creamy Soda flavoured Soda Stream. Anodised aluminium Cups. Napkins. Scissors to cut the Zooper Doopers in half, to share them as generously as possible. And that is all. Good, huh? Luckily the rain held off and they were able to picnic on the Sew La Tea Towel picnic rug all afternoon! It’s a good thing to pack a picnic for someone, isn’t it?!

That picnic sounds like the ideal way to spend a lovely summer Sunday afternoon… And you packed a lunch that they must have really enjoyed!
Best of luck with your sale tomorrow… On to new adventures!
I am so sad I never go to come to your lovely shop (we live in country WA) but my daughter did when she did a little trip to Melbourne. She sent a very excited text saying she was there! which I have kept! I wonder how you are feeling about tomorrow, I guess there will be mixed emotions. A little bit sad and a little bit onwards and upwards!! all the best, sue 🙂
I agree with the above. Saying goodbye is hard but it looks like you already have so many new and wonderful things in the works too! Good luck with the window renting venture, it sounds like a great idea.
You are sweet. Thank you for noticing that 🙂 xxxx
That post is so bitter sweet. It is sad to see the shop go. I hope tomorrow goes well.
