Last night we had an event at Readings St Kilda for the release of Make Hey! All the seats were filled, which was nice, and we had lamingtons and melting moments and ginger beer together and chatted about craft and blogging and other good things.
I crocheted 16 Christmas baubles for the Readings window, and then lots of people who came along made a bauble or two, too! Pretty great of those people, methinks! Thank you people! Keep your eye on the Readings Twitter account if you’d like to see the Christmassy baubley display they are planning! I think it might go up today or tomorrow…
I got a really cute pin-cushion gift, from two really great people! (Hello Isabelle!) AND some flowers too… And I felt pretty special and undeserving, to be honest! Aw. Shucks. I signed lots of books and got to talk to lots of really great ladies. A whole gang of said ladies then trotted off to have a picnic afterwards (but my clan had to go to a dinner instead.) I feel pretty lucky to be part of a community like this. I really do. Especially when I see them all doing good things together and supporting each other.
These are some of Gemma’s photos of last night. Thanks Gem!
xx Pip
The sweet treats are from Little Bertha!

When I saw this post I thought, hey how can I make those baubles??? Then my copy of Make Hey! was delivered, and now I am looking forward to teaching myself how to crochet and make some of those babies! 🙂
It was such a lovely night! Thanks so much for signing my book. It's so exciting to have them in the bookcase.
Congratulations on the new book. Looks like the Readings night was a bunch of fun and how good do those baubles look? And those lamingtons. Whoa, could go a fresh sponge lamington and a good cup of tea right now, I could.
Oh! I always hear of these things after the fact! Silly me! Looked like fun. Congrats on the new book xx
Hello Pip! I think you're really great too, and I love the special pink message and "Pip-cloud" in our book! Isabelle x (and Catherine!)
Many congratulations on your new book Pip! Glad that you had such a terrific evening. Much deserved too!
Ooooh PS! I see there is a picture of you signing my book! Yay! (Small things make me happy hehe) Plus I can point potential buyers (named Vic, obviously) to this post when I am flogging it on eBay for MILLIONS. No? 😉
Was super fun Pip! Thanks for having us & being so lovely!
