Aw Flickr. It’s still a fave of mine. I think Pinterest is kicking Flickr’s butt a bit. But Flickr is really super wonderful and we must not forget about it. Flickr is all about people ‘pinning’ their own photos. I like that. I like Pinterest too, but sometimes the same images go around and around. Sometimes it’s not so much about the maker or origin of the image, but about consuming the image. Tumblr can be a bit like that too.
I love the originality of Flickr. I love the little surprises it offers. I love that you can use it as a home base for all your images, editing and storing them over there. I love the people over there too. Like this people. KayLovesVintage. She’s my kind of people. I found this image by Kay in the Jeu de Paume group.
(Also I love these chairs and this blue. I love blue!)
xx Pip

Flickr is my favourite way to burn hours away on the internet. Flickr is the reason I picked up a camera : )
Aw, I love Flickr. I really do love it and what it has done for amateur photographers and image lovers worldwide!
I agree with ejorpin that the communities are fantastic too. So helpful for things like learning to use your DSLR.
I only dabble in Pinterest but Flickr is like the more mature older cousin or something. And I appreciate that.
Totally agree Pip! Flickr is amazing, such a cool community. And it's a place where talent really shines. x
Well said Pip! Flickr and I go waaay back, long before I'd even thought of things like blogs and tweets and such. I haven't gone near Pinterest yet, mainly because I do not need another way to waste my time, but also because unattributed images annoy me. A lot.
As someone who dabbles in photography there are so many inspiring, wonderful images to be found on Flickr. And if you join some groups and leave some comments it is also a lovely and supportive community to be a part of too. If I had more time I would spend it on Flickr!
You are my kind of people. Hooray for flickr & hooray for doing your own thing.
Wow that is the colour of my house…that was weird for a second thinking I was looking at one of my photos. I can't wait until flickr becomes more familiar to me…I do love it but I don't use it enough yet. Have a lovely day xox Jo
I too still love Flickr and your photo selection reminds me of coastal holidays I had when I was a kid.
Loved your Teriyaki Chicken last night. Tks again.
I do love that blue too!
And I'm fairly new to flickr but I do like it as a medium to share my stored images.
