Hello

Blog Roll Bingo – Green Kitchen

January 4, 2009

We used to have a green kitchen. It was in Port Hedland, WA in a mining company house and I was ten. The walls were a deep foresty green designed to create a cool calm over all that entered it. It did very little to cool the searing 40 plus degree heat, I must say, but it was very cheery. I spent a lot of time in that green kitchen. For some reason, after school, I was obsessed with microwaving bowls of frozen peas and dousing them with large amounts of mint sauce. The bowl was huge and that kind of brown tinged glass Pyrex. I ate them with an equally big spoon till my lips puckered with vinegariness and my tummy felt odd. You could not get fresh peas in the far north west of Australia. Nor fresh bread or fresh milk. It was all frozen. I hate frozen milk. Anyway, I’m not talking about THAT green kitchen. I’m talking about the lovely blog Green Kitchen.

What will you find at said lovely blog? You will find Michelle. Michelle is very good, you know?! But that is not all. There is more that is good there, besides Michelle. You will find a wreath made of gumdrops. You will find a heart shaped pizza. You will find cute little vintage rubber stamp designs of cute little animals from a cute little French Set – and you can download those. You will find Alice In Wonderland Cookie Cutters. You will find jam and toes. You will find tutorials galore – how to make pants for wee ones from sweater sleeves, how to make a patchwork cat, how to make a wrist pincushion, how to make an A-Line skirt… and even more.

I love this blog because it’s more then crafty. It’s lifey. If that makes sense. Gorgeous photos, happily written, clever and nice. You should go there. Here is Michelle’s stolen blogroll. You’ll have to go over to her blog to see all the other good stuff she’s doing. There is no frozen milk over there, thank heavens.
