ACMI was showing this movie for FREE today! Ari and Max and Cam and I shut the shop a tiny bit early and whizzed in to see it. Such a fantastic, funny, happy, sad kind of documentary, it details the road trip of five English Football Freestyling lads – and their quest to get from the UK to Brazil to meet Maradona. With no money. And (in the beginning) no map.
They rely solely on the kindess of strangers and the funds they busk along the way, entertainining the masses from New York to Acapulco with their football ‘tricks and skills’. AWESOME. And I don’t even like football.
These guys are the Lock, Stock and Breakdancing Barrel of sport. Super-passionate about realising their dream of meeting Diego.
Definately a great one to check out, or buy for someone you like. A lot.
We also caught the tail end of the Homeless World Cup! So I’m footyed out and looking forward to a bit of Stylista tonight!
