As if cyclists didn’t have enough to worry about. What with big puddles and sweaty armpits and oil slicks and tram tracks and safety flags and dinging bells and suddenly-opening-car-doors and rain and angry motorists and tangled spokey-dokes and too-small-flowery-baskets and bicycle thieves and muscly thighs and exhaust fumes…. As if that wasn’t enough to worry about… there’s a lovely fashionable movement on Flickr touting the virtues of velocouture! You are meant to actually look gorgeous whilst you ride your bike too! Yikes!

(This reminds me of that famous story involving me as a five year old, a steep driveway, pedals whizzing madly out of control…. and a brick wall. We won’t dwell on that, but my Mum probably had me in a lovely floral frock and swing coat that day…. so at least i fell – or rather slammed – fashionably- velocouture style)
