:: Win(ning!) Bike and Book Giveaway! OMG!

November 8, 2011

Well. After the sweet agony of putting together my holiday guide (Good Stuff!) and the learning curve of daily blogging at JustB (please join our JustB Facebook page so we can chat over there!), I have something else NEW!  A new giveaway!  The best yet on this blog.  Here we go…

These are just a teensy FEW of the colour combinations at Jellybean Bikes!

We have a really super great prize pack on offer, with the piece de resistance… a BIKE from Jellybean Bikes!  One prize winner will score a $528 voucher to spend at Jellybean Bikes! Yes! OMG! That’ll buy you a single speed bike and delivery!

Jellybean Bikes is a bespoke bicycle company that allows you to create your own custom coloured bike, specifying the lovely hue of each component.  You get to customise everything, from the frame through to the wheels and grips.

The bikes are made right here in Melbourne.  Yep. So it’s a super local, innovative and independent business.  My kinda thing.   To make YOUR very own kinda (bike)  thing, head to the Jellybean website, drag your fave colours into the blank bike template and send it through.  The Jellybean crew will build your bike just the way you like it and deliver it straight to your door.  Bikes are available in single speed or three speed and there are myriad colours to choose from!  Super yikes!  Love attack!

This prize is thanks to the RAD crew at Jellybean Bikes.  Without them we would be bike-less. You can follow them on Facebook here.  THANK YOU guys. You are the best thing on 2 wheels, for sure!  I am totally super wanting one of these bikes. I think I really want a pink one, because I love a girly bike, but mustard and blue would be dandy too. What would you choose…?!

That is not all.  The same prize winner will also receive one copy of each of my books! YES!  And Sew La and Make Hey! even FEATURE bikes in them! OMG. Again.  Here’s the list, just to be clear.  The winner will receive ::

A copy of Sew La Tea Do and

The books are thanks to Hardie Grant Books.  And they are not only giving away books. They are giving away the BIKE SEAT PROJECT that features in Make Hey!  Head to their Facebook page and get the project gratis, thanks to HG!  You don’t even need to be the winner to get the bike seat project, so there is something for everyone here. The project is up for a limited time, so be quick and go LIKE Hardie Grant. Everyone is a winner, I tell you!

Do you want to win the Jellybean Bikes voucher and four of my books?!  To enter, and perhaps WIN,  just leave a comment!  You MUST live in  Australia.  Try to leave your contact details in your comment too, in case we can’t find you when you win!  One entry per person, if you please.  Friends of mine are most definitely allowed to enter.  Winner will be judged by a panel (not just me!)

Giveaway closes at midnight on Monday 14th November.

Super massive thanks to Jellybean Bikes, my BBFF (Best Bike Friends Forever) and to Hardie Grant.  Wow. What a super ace prize.

Good luck!

xx Pip

My goodness. What a giveaway. I'd be worried to take such a gorgeous bike out in Canberra town. If I won I might need to just ride it around the yard to keep it safe. theyellowhouseintheu@gmail.com

  • Hannahhxx November 17, 2011 at 1:17 PM

How lovely it would be to ride a mint green bike to the seaside with a few friends and picnic basket in tow! Or perhaps just riding it to uni or to Newtown to develop a roll of film! Lovely!

  • (b)liss November 16, 2011 at 6:28 PM

Jellybeans AND bikes combined! *squeal* It's like combining fairyfloss AND unicorns. Kinda. Maybe if I had these sweet wheels (literally ;)) I could ride on over and Meet you at Mikes?

  • Suze November 14, 2011 at 10:59 PM

A delicious jelly bean to ride everyday that won't give you a sugar crash after each and every play, yes please!

  • steveblack November 14, 2011 at 9:50 PM

Certainly agree that this is a rather super ace prize pack and so easy to enter!

Wouldn't a Jellybean bike (with seat cover) look so delicious cruising the streets of Bendigo?

I already have half your books so even more mike goodness will be shared by this hopeful winner with some very lucky friends.

  • Adriana November 14, 2011 at 9:09 PM

OMG! Winning this would just be fantastic! It would be a great ending to a really crappy year! ANd perfect timing too because my old bike has had it & well, buying a new one isn't at the top of the 'things to blow cash on that i don't even have' list! Ha! And the books would be the cherry on top! xx

What beautiful bikes – I know they are great jelly bean colours, but my choices remind me of gelati. My only bike was an old second hand one in a brown colour – swhe was functional, and gave me freedom. Would also love any of your books!

Something a little bit different. I would love this prize so much I have written a song for you. A song called "Different". (Yes, it's on a ukelele.) I would love my Jeally Bean and my books so much, I would make the crafty projects and then attach them to my Jelly Bean so I could take around Melbourne to see the sights (no, I'm not being rude. I mean literally. On the bike. "My Jelly Bean" is not a euphemism).

    Take a listen here:

    http://soundcloud.com/rosewintergreen/different

And these are the lyrics (in case you can't make them out):

Some people think Jelly Beans are to eat
Some people think love is shiny new things
Some people think you shouldn't Meet Me at Mikes

    BUT, some people think different!

Maybe a Jelly Bean can be a bike
Maybe love can be something crafty
Maybe you can Meet Me at Mikes

    Maybe we're a bit different!

Make Hey! While The Sun Shines
    Meet Me at Mikes
    We'll Sew La Tea Do

    We're a little bit different
    'Cos we're a little different

  • Sally November 14, 2011 at 7:42 PM

Oh Pip! You are so generous. What a wonderful prize. Such a stunningly funky bike… I checked out the site – so many colours, so many options… deligtful!
And your complete works… its like the goodness just doesn't end. We're a bikeless mob here so winning a bike would be so wonderful. Thanks for the chance to win.
[I have my fingers and toes crossed!]

I live in Hobart and was recently looking at booking flights to Melbourne, it has gotten ridiculously expensive at up to $600 return! With such a beautiful bike I could practically ride there (or have a little bit of Melbourne come to me as I ride around Hobart and play around with crafts)! Laura x

    Kirei!!!

My mind went a little blank when I saw the pink/blue bicycle…then it went overload when I saw the yellow/green bicycle!

Then I heard Queen in my head…
"I want to ride my bicycle…
I want to ride my bike..
I want to ride my bicycle..
I want to ride it where I like…
    Bicycle bicycle bicycle!"

Okay. I think I should really shut up now. 🙂 Fingers toes triple crossed!

Oh my god! That bicycle is such a prize!
I picture myself riding it round the park.

Craft books in her lap, I see there a spark.
I know she'll create something lovely and wise.
With my bike and her books we make such a team

    Hello!

My name is Kelly. I am a graphic designer. I enter competitions every now and again, and get very excited about the prospect of winning a cool prize, but I never seem to win.

(Except for that one apricot windcheater I won from Dolly magazine about 500 years ago.)

I would like a jellybean bike! They are so pretty, I think I would just look at it and maybe ride it around town and make people jealous.

I would also like a copy of your books. I am not very crafty, but I would like to give it a go. Sewing machines scare me a little.

You can find me at http://www.melbournedreaming.blogspot.com and http://www.kellyreynolds.com.au.

    Thank you!

meet me at mikes is always full of crafty delights, but today Pip has even more likes with the super radical jellybean bikes! They are the best thing on wheels for seeing the sights – the colours ignite, even shine in the moonlight.I want to soar like a kite on a super radical jellybean bike. x

  • Sarah B November 14, 2011 at 2:30 PM

OMG> Those bikes are so beautiful that I want cycling to be a hobbie of mine so I can own one!

  • Emmalinnia November 14, 2011 at 2:15 PM

Wow, I've been ogling the mint, apple green and navy versions of the Jelly Bean bikes – really they are something special. But I'd spend at least as much time with your books as the bike. What a prize, you are really rocking the blog thang!

  • Lachlan T November 14, 2011 at 1:35 PM

To sweeten the books from Meet Me at Mikes,
This comp also comes with one of the Jelly Bean Bikes.
Holy crap, I must enter, and if I win, Oh Yikes!
If this was on facebook I’d give it my “like”s

I really need a bike, my car moves like a brick,
It’s not very happy, so says the dipstick.
But oh no, a comment only, that’s more than a click
And must enter by midnight, the clock it does tick.

The judges need convincing, what will sway their vote?
Bribing is impossible it must be a note.
A poem is needed, but of my skills I won’t gloat,
Will it be enough for me to showboat?

So reasons I’ll need them, maybe more than a few,
To win me this prize that’s so shiny and new,
A bike for my moustache that’s starting to brew,
My face and my transport, I could match the two

With the books and the cycle a new man I’ll be,
Making craft for my pink bike will be my life’s key,
A crochet for the wheel rim will fit to a tee,
And all the attention will be placed on me.

My shiny new bike would take me great places,
I’d get some new boat shoes, one’s without laces,
I do hope I win, and earn your good graces,
A bike for enjoyment, not lycra filled races.

    lachlantoose(at)hotmail.com

  • Ben November 14, 2011 at 1:07 PM

Oh how I would utterly like,
To be the lucky winner of meet me at mike (s).

A candy sweet bike from Jelly Bean,
Would make any girl unleash a wee scream.

    Sew-La-Tea do with patterns galore,
I’d sew up a sundress – Or perhaps four.

A journal of fun in sew, croch & knit,
I’d learn new techniques lickety split!

Summertime looms & ‘Make Hey’ would do,
For creating a seat cover in perhaps baby blue.

So to all of the team at ‘Meet me at Mikes’,

Amazing bikes (and books of course!) Though choosing a colour combo seems a challenge!

A bike would be a real treat to win though. It would make keeping up with my little one a breeze, compared to our current bike riding adventures which generally involves me speed walking/trying to run (which trust me is never pretty) in a bid to keep up with a fearless 5 year old thats just discovered she can ride her 'big girl' 2 wheeler super fast!

I am completely floored by this giveaway! Amazing!

These are just the cutest bikes! My wee man Richie is 8 months old now and will be able to sit in a baby bike seat soon so winning a gorgeous bike would be so wonderful right now. We are trying super hard to decrease the amount of driving we do so this would be just amazing.

I have also wanted to buy Sew La Tea Do for some time however we are on a shoestring budget so haven't been able to get my hands on it except via the local library (yay for libraries though!)

This giveaway is my ideal of heaven! It is SO up my crafty/frugal alley! And super cute to match!

Just discovered your blog – wow! What an awesome prize. I can see myself getting around in style on one of those bikes!

  • Anonymous November 13, 2011 at 3:36 PM

wowsa! what an awamzing prize! (amazing even). I just purchased a new overlocker and my mother is going to try to teach me how to sew and my grandmother is going to teach me how to crochet. i also just got a new job at a fabric and craft store and have been meaning to buy a copy of your lovely 'sew la tea do' book -so it's great that this competition came along. And on top of that i had a dream the other night that i recieved a new bike! i think this is fate!

Thanks for a chance to win! 🙂

p.s wouldn't it be dreamy if there was a whole city that had jellybean bikes instead of cars (kind of like amsterdam but bigger and with prettier bikes).

I think the city of Melbourne should distribute both these bikes and the books to every newcomer as a welcome gift.

This bike is just what I need to explore the nooks and crannies of my new home and the crafty activities will keep me occupied while we attempt to survive our first Melbourne winter.

Wow – what an exciting giveaway to host on your blog!!

I live near the perfect pathway which weaves it's way around a lake and to the beach. I walk there now but how much fun would it be to ride!

And your books … truth be told I am a little more excited by them! There are so many projects tucked in those pages I am just itching to try!!

Thank you so much for the opportunity to enter!

What a wonderful prize! I have a dear little friend Ashley (10) who has just started crafting, she comes to my studio and carefully selects fabric scraps, buttons and trims and delicately puts them in her little sewing caddy. Ashley is drawn to all the bright colours and I can visualize her, her long blonde hair trailing behind as she pedals down the street. And the books, she could keep these forever and teach her children to craft.

OMGosh what lovely bikes – the colors are so lovely and also all of your books, that so far I have only browsed in my local bookshop. Thanks for the chance to win. Sydneyking6@bigpond.com

……………..Wheeeeeeely marvellous prize package, Pippy! I've just rather enjoyed reading all the wonderful comments that you always seem to garner. Just gorgeous. Happy to be in the mix. biggirlssweets@gmail.com

    Hi,
I've read a couple of your books at my local library. They've really inspired me in making things for my friends and family. And I think you've inspired many people in the craft community, Pip and helped foster this community in Australia. Thanks.

If I did win though, I would give away your books – the first one would go to my mum to encourage her to get out her sewing machine again and make something together, and the others to 2 friends who need some inspiration to make rather than always buy things for their kids (although I could be tempted to keep the crafty journal!).

As for a Jellybean bike, they look gorgeous and I would LOVE to have one to replace my 15 yr old racer (which I ride every day). I can see I would also be able to craft a basket for the front of it unlike my current bike. In the spirit of giving, I'll donate my current bike to Bicycles for Humanity if I am lucky enough to win!
Thanks and have a lovely day,
    K

This is the best giveaway in the world! The first thing that I did when I saw this was to go to the Jellybean Bikes website and design my dream bike! I would love to have one of these bikes. It would be my dream to ride away from my wedding with my gorgeous fiance on this awesome bike! Plus, there is the added extra of one of each of your books! I haven't been able to afford to buy any of them yet, and I'd really love to own them all! I hope that I win.

Well, Three Hundred and Eighty Five is my lucky number, let's hope that the judges scroll this far! Holy guacamole, what a fabulous giveaway. I couldn't think of a better way to welcome summer. I can combine my penchant for neon peach and yellow with a too cute to boot seat cover and some stylish wheels to cruise around on, on bike rides to nowhere and everywhere. Plus, Chrissy holidays are the best time to get your craft on, I'll be crafting for sure, especially after the 'I can't sleep' buzz of entertaining. Wish me luck!

Thank you for your blogging prowess Pip. Crafternoons would not be the same without you.

And yay for the books prize! Wonder if Hardie Grant could give TWO copies of each book, so you could have an extra prize with just the books? Or just run a whole other competition for just the books? The books are a super and massive prize on their own.

And happy birthday Retrogoddess. I'm a Boxing Day kid too!

  • Katho November 11, 2011 at 1:34 PM

    hello there!

I cannot believe this competition! wowee! I secretly think that some kind of angel whispered this comp into someones little ear because this is amazing!

I need a bike in fact its what the doctor and my dreams have ordered..OK let me explain without being too gross! I was diagnosed with Crohns disease 9 yrs ago its been a long an intense journey and since that time (I was 16 then) I have had many operations…many of which have been on my tooshie…yes thats right my tooshie. Because of all the issues with my bowel it has been practically impossible for me to ride a bike 🙁 all because of the pain. I have just recently had my bowel removed though which means my toosh is no longer an issue (coz its gone to internal organ heaven) and i would be able to ride again for the first time in 9 years! I have had a few wobbly practices on my friends bikes but I dont have one of my own.

Im also a major fan of your books Pip and although I don't own them I always look and long after them in the book shop! In fact just the other day it was a friends birthday (a really clever crafty friends bday and I thought it would be a great idea for 3 of our friends to by one each of your books to give to her as a set! cute right!)

I check your blog all the time (its kept me in touch with the cutesie real world whilst I've been in recovery! i especially love the music book and tv show recommendations..you got me onto ABC cooking shows and the slap! Oh and I LOVE BOY!! where do you find out about all this cool stuff?!)

Anyway I don't really like to use my disability as a reason to win things so I'm sorry if this sounds like a pity party or even a suck up..it's more just an explanation of why a bike and a bunch of books would be awesome for me right now!

Wishing you lots of lovely things,
    Katho xx

  • Sarah November 11, 2011 at 12:43 PM

My wife would go absolutely ballistic if she won this. I watched her read the blog a couple of nights ago clicking madly on jelly Bean bikes, Hardie Grant and just going click crazy to check it all out. She was agonising over what to write and said she would need to think about it. So I thought there will be millions of entries and if I enter, for her, she won’t know and she won’t see it.
So here are my 10 good reasons why I think she would be eternally grateful for this prize:

    1. She doesn’t have a bike. I promised I would find her one in the next hard rubbish which is at the end of the month. We do love our hard rubbish!!! BUT a brand new one would be SO much better. I would be the best husband on this planet.

    2. She is excited about the thought of a ‘new’ bike. She is really looking forward to taking our 3 boys out for a ride. Especially our 1 year old on the back of her bike.

    3. She has desperately wanted each one of Pip’s books when they have been released. Each time she has a little “fun” money to spend on herself she will spend it on our 3 boys instead.

    4. She has bought over 20 copies of Pips books for friends, as gifts, and none for herself yet.

    5. We have a $50 limit at Chrissy for each other and if I would love to blow her away with this prize. With the $50 I could buy her a basket to put on front of the bike so she can store all her embroidery stuff in it.

    6. She is hilarious when she gets excited so I would love to see her go absolutely nuts.

    7. She is craft and exercise crazy so this is the perfect combination of a prize. She can get creative with the books and be inspired. And then take a ride to get fresh air for more inspiration.

    8. She has never won anything in her life.

    9. She is gorgeous!

10.She is gorgeous! Did I just say that one?

I have just spent WAYYYYY too long making up colour combinations for my soon-to-win Jellybean Bike. I'm like a kid in a candy store – and that candy store is a bike with all of my favourite colours (pink, mint green, mustard yellow, purple) mixed together! The prospect of exercise actually would be a reality…and fun!

Ooh the lemon yellow frame is so cute…cue vision of me riding my new Jellybean bike in a summer dress…can I get a basket and a bell for it? And spokey dokeys (is that what they were called)…

Best give away ever. And I don't say that a lot 😉

    – Filling my pockets full of jellybeans and jumping on my bicycle, I was very conscious that we needed to Make Hey While The Sun Shines. I pedalled directly over to Meet Me at Mikes. Me was waiting patiently, as were a few of our favourite friends. We had planned such a wonderful day together in the country side. Doe, Rae, Me and Far skipped off toward the grassy hills. I helped Sew, La, Tea and Do gather their belongings and we followed along close behind the others. We were finally on our way.

Wowza, super duper prizes from a lovely blog. I would totally bloomin' love to win a bike and all the other goodies. i actually already have a bike but i don't use it. But, before you judge me, it's not because i'm lazy, it's because the seat that is on my bike is like a torture device. no joke. This seat is like sitting on a wooden fence. It has properly put me off cycling as I'm concerned about preserving my lady-bits. i've had seat related injuries often, which i wont' go into too much detail, other than it hurts to pee after a short 20 minute cycle (cycling for longer lengths, incurs more serious injuries…i'll leave that to your imaginations). Anyways…love the blog too, it really makes me want to make and share and well, just be creative all round.
    Cheers, Pigeon x

    WOW!
This year, to save my husband the timeless "I-didn't-know-what-to-get-you-so-I-got-you-nothing" excuse on my birthday I gave very specific instructions using social media.
I said in no uncertain terms "This year I want you to get me a bike with a pretty basket".
Obviously too cryptic as what I received was a pre-scratched scratchie from interstate which had won $10 (true love) but was irredeemable due to location.

I'm not one for entering give aways but this one struck a cord inside me. I'm a mum of two, and an artist. I'm a heavy girl, who has just recently gone down the road to losing weight, Its slowly coming off, very slowly but its happening. I told myself that when I was ready..or felt ready, I wanted to buy myself a bike to ride to try and lose a few more digits weekly that what I am at the moment. I don't drive, I haven't gone for my license and maybe I never will, but I would like to be able to get out of the house once my little ones start school next year…the colour, being an artist is what draws me in, I want to ride with this beautiful vibrant bike, I want my life to light up again…the weight and the depression have been driving forces in my life and I want to break that cycle.

The stunning books from pip is really a bonus, as some have said, I've always bought the books as gifts and never for myself, its how I am, I give first then think about myself, the 5th of never. I hope whoever wins the bike and the books, let it change your life, I see this as such a beautiful change, it would be a rainbow key in my new life path.

Be still my racing heart!! A Jellybean bike and all four of the Pippy books? Holy crafty bike heaven, Batman!

I have just (today in fact) entered my thirties, and have made a '31 before 31' list. Ambitious idea, I know, but nearly all of it is craft related 🙂 We all pitched in to by my Hubby a very cool matte black bike for his bday (last week) and now he is keen as a jellybean for me to go riding with him around the lake and reserve behind our home. Problem is, I have no bike, and if I do eventually get a bike, it has to be so much cuter than his 🙂 The other prob is that I work at an animal shelter, and although I adore my job, it pay very little monetary-wise. It does however payout huge in the kitty and puppy cuddles way (my favourite!).

So you can imagine my squeal of delight when I read this post – Pip, did you write it with me in mind? You must have! hee hee 🙂

    Love and turtledoves,
    Shann

    Jellybeans, jellybeans oh so yummy!
I eat and I eat 'till the world looks funny.
But then I get sad and my eyes go runny,
'Cause I look in the mirror at my big round tummy!
So what I'd love is a special Jellybean,
To take me places that I've never never seen.
So I can ride in the sun and then sit in the shade,
Reading gorgeous books and dreaming of things to be made.

  • two blue shoes November 10, 2011 at 1:02 PM

Be still, my beating heart! These bikes are BEE-YOU-TIFUL! The colours, children!
I don't have a bike. My Boy (who I married in a bright orange and electric blue dress) was going to buy me one for my 30th. Then we found out about The Bean, and bike-riding with a giant belly seemed too difficult. But he's nearly nine months old now, and a colourful Jellybean bike to ride my Bean around on while he's wearing pants I've made from the first Mike's book would make me swoon! (Thank goodness for stackhats.)

  • Alison Murray November 10, 2011 at 12:40 PM

Pick me! Pick me! This drabby, flabby mum-to-be will soon run out of excuses! How groovy would this bike be to help me find my f(l)ab-u-less pre-bubbas figure? Cruising to the park, kids in tow or locking them at home with their Pappa while I pedal to the local cafe for a sanity saver (aka coffee hit & girlfriend chat!) This prize would totally make my year!!
(PS. You can email me at jemima622@gmail.com – thanks a bunch!)

  • Anonymous November 10, 2011 at 12:28 PM

I LOVE your books and scan through them whenever I'm in a bookstore wishing that I was brave enough to craft the beautiful things you show. Now I am also in LOVE with the Jellybean bike! I have always wanted a bike and haven't had one since I was a kid and these bikes are amazing and mega special. This would change my life!

I need a new bicycle.. all my family often leave me at home while they go off and ride their bikes 🙁 my last bike was a boys bike and it was sacrificed for parts for the little boys.angelface.jb@bigpond.com I have already designed and named my dream bike….

  • Anne H November 10, 2011 at 12:10 PM

Oh my goodness – what awesome prizes! I'm 35 and have never had my own bike – I couldn't think of a better first bike! And then I could get my 6yo to teach me how to ride. As for the books, I would share them with my sister as I already own 3 of them and they are fantastic! Thanks for the chance to win! anne(dot)hankinson(at)bigpond(dot)com.

  • Beck November 10, 2011 at 12:02 PM

Ooo how very exciting! I am due to have my first baby in Late December/January and I can't think of a better way to fill my extra time (ahem) than creating beautiful things from your books and then cruising the streets with hair flowing in the summer breeze (from my the back or my helmet of course) to get rid of the excess kgs and the baby brain! Sharing my creations on my blog would be fun too.
I would love, love, love this!
Thanks for the chance to win!

  • MeRiaN November 10, 2011 at 11:59 AM

Can anyone have a bad day when riding a 'rainbow' bike early in the morning?! I reckon even if you wake up moody you would be riding the jellybeans' bike with a ridiculously big smile on your face (and putting a smile on everyone elses as well for that matter)
You know what, cities should be full of every colour of the rainbow!
    Congratulations for the initiative!

This is such an outstanding prize! I would love to win!

The bike is so trendy, and is an excellent incentive to go bike-riding, but perhaps through parks as exercise. I would ride the bike as much as I can and read one of the hardie grand books each day for a week, starting with Sew La Tea Do because I am an arts-and-craft kind of person and would be so good for Christmas presents!

Really hope I win this prize. Love Kristy, kristyy_wang@hotmail.com

LOVE LOVE LOVE these bikes! I see why they are called Jellybean bikes! They look so deliciously gorgeous and not to mention, I adore your blog page. So glad I found you through JustB.

This would be so fabulous to win so "there" is reason to exercise after all.

Love the sound of your books as well.

  • Leanne November 10, 2011 at 10:51 AM

Oh wow what an amazing prize! I am in desperate need of a bike, the last time I rode my 'Kmart Special' the handlebars fell off as I was going down a massive hill. I felt lucky to escape with all of my limbs still attached LOL! And the books too! So generous of you (and Jellybean Bikes!)

I've walked my way around town in the dark of night this year, determined to drop the extra 40kg I'd burdened myself with, but not wanting to be seen by anyone. What a "coming out" a ride around town on one of these divine bikes would be! I love the irony of maintaining my huge weight loss by riding a "Jellybean".

As the owner of your brilliant books I'd be happy to share the love and donate back as a second prize. Thanks for the opportunity xxx

Just to reiterate what everyone else has said here – OMG what an AWESOME giveaway!!! 🙂

This giveaway fits in nicely with the resolutions that I have already set myself for 2012 –
"get on a bike" (for the first time in nearly 20 years! EEP!!) and
"get the crafty juices flowing" (Bub #2 is due in May, and I need to do something productive in my maternity leave)

Thanks for the fab opportunity to do something for myself!! 🙂

  • Becci November 10, 2011 at 10:09 AM

Would absobloodylutely love to win. Bike for hubby so he can ride with me (he recently bought an old $20 bike from a garage sale but it is wonky & dangerous) and books for me to get me started on craftiness.

  • bec November 10, 2011 at 10:03 AM

I've never had my own bike. When I was a kid I was super scared of falling off, and only learned the joy of bike riding in my late teens at high school when we had to do cycling around a park for sport. But I was never brave enough to get my own bike and ride it around in the Real World, even though I've wished for one many a time.

But these ones are SO much cuter than any I've seen and I would be proud to ride one around and get some much needed exercise! If I could afford it I would buy one right now, but as I've just finished studying, of course I have no money…

So winning one would be ACE!

Also, I can't wait for my last exam to be over so I can do some craft to relax and get myself back to normal. I have piles of yarn and fabric and things just waiting to be made into cute objects that I haven't been able to touch while studying. I know Pip's books would get me going! I just love looking at them, and being inspired by the possibilities of creating.

Please help a cash-strapped, exercise-starved and craft-hungry girl! Pick me! (becjee [at] gmail.com)

  • Carla November 10, 2011 at 9:59 AM

  • Pinkie November 10, 2011 at 9:59 AM

What is not to love about this amazing stash of prizes.
My 2 kids would be over the moon if I won this competition. We're currently teaching one to ride a bike without training wheels and the other one is champing at the bit to have a go too. I'm a chubby mummy who needs to be more active and exercise more regularly. I just ove my food a bit too much. I'm trying to change my habits but the bike would be an awesome boost. And it would be good to go for bike rides with my kids one day. I'm doing a personal Happiness Project that includes being healthier and more accountable. So, the bike would be well used and much appreciated. Yay for positive changes.

I'm really enjoying your daily blog posts on JustB, Pip. And what a super cool competition. I already have 'Meet Me at Mikes' and 'Sew La Tea Do', so I'd be able to give those to my bestie, who I know would love them as much as I do.

Just the idea of a new bike makes me swoon, too. The Jellybeans are gorgeous.

Thanks for hosting such a fantastic giveaway, Pip!

  • Amy November 10, 2011 at 9:47 AM

    WOW
Those bikes are pure awesomeness. I get a little nervous on bikes. My partner is a regular Cadel Evans. Zoom Zoom, phew phew, right past me!! They are currently trying to "build" me a new bike with rusty handle bars and cable ties holding up the kick stand – eek! I refuse to buy a new one cos I am busy saving money to have a bambino via IFV next year, you know, priorities…. How awesome would a little baby wagon be off the back of a jellybean? Best worry about steadying myself first i guess…

    Love you Pip.

I'm leaving a comment on behalf of my Mum, who I love and miss dearly, she's in Australia and I'm in the UK. When we left we gave a bike to my Dad for his birthday, as he can no longer run due to his knees giving up on him. It's my Mum's birthday in January and I'd love her to be able to go out for a ride with him. She has done so much for me over the years and this would be a very special gift from me, and you, to her!
I've been a huge admirer of Pip and her books for awhile, and to have access the whole collection would be wonderful (mum might even post me one or two)!

  • Anonymous November 10, 2011 at 6:59 AM

Oh. I don't think my first comment worked.

Now here's a secret that I don't tell many people at all because it makes me blush. But I cannot ride a bike. I never learned and I'm not sure why.

So, my partner and I now have an 8 month old little man, he's all sorts of lovely and I want to learn to ride so we can spend sunny days pedalling together. Will he think I'm silly in the head because I can't ride a bike?

My aim for the summer was to learn to ride and what more colourful way to do that than on a pretty little Jellybean! I would be forever grateful.

And as for the books, wow oh wow.

I must hunt down an orange stackhat.

    Hiya Pip!
I am writing this in a frenzy upon seeing your blog post, so please excuse any missed capital letters and bad grammar because I tend to have lots of unorganised thoughts in my head especially when I am excited about something.
This is very exciting!! The colours bikes in the pictures are funky (in a good way!). I'm the type of person who would spend ages deliberating on the website trying the choose what colour to make it. But right now, listening to josh pyke's the summer and today being one of the hottest days SUMMER on my brain. I would choose bright citrusy, tropical colours. A pine lime colour with a basket at the front of the bike looks delicious in my head. I would love riding the bike in my neighbourhood. I am a bit of a daredevil and there is a hill near me that is whispering for me to ride a bike down it.
Your books look pretty cool as well. I might need them to fill the time in the holidays. I like how your blog is really chatty and friendly. Like my aunty is sitting there giving me tips on how to crochet whilst telling me funny things she saw in the newspaper and interesting people she has met at the cafe.is your book like that as well?
I whole heartedly promise that if I get the prize, I will take care of it (I have lots of experience in this area having helped my dad fix up a raspberry ppink second hand bike when I was 12. I have sadly outgrown this bike) and ride it to awesome places. I will use your books to create a crafty haven around me (taking on the world one crochet tea cozy at a time;) )
If you've read up to hear you are quite brave as well as nice pip because I know i've ranted
    Love
Henrietta. (My friends call me henry)

    Good day pip!
This is sent from my phone in a frantic rush upon seeing your blog post. This is very exciting! The colours on the bike are funky (the good way). I think if I were to win, the colours would be bright and summery. Maybe citrusy colours with some bright pink to catch the eyes of passerbys. I have summer on my mind (is it hot in melbourne? I almost died of heat exhaustion on the bus today) and listening to josh pyke (the summer). I don't have any of your books (being a student comes with its sacrifices) but often go into my local bookstore to sneak peaks at the pretty pictures
I whole heartedly promise that I will take care of the awesome bike (I have experience in this field having helped my dad restore a second hand raspberry pink bike for me when I was twelve) and promise to use your books to create a crafty haven for those around me
Love henrietta (my friends call me henry)

I love bikes! Nice post Pip. I'd not seen your books before either, would love to get my hands on these, do enjoy being a little crafty, even if I am a bloke!

I actually love getting crafty by building bikes – if that counts as crafty! – taking old ones and restoring them. A shiny new one from Jellybean Bikes would be wonderful however, and it would go straight to my dear brother who had his stolen out the fron of uni the other day 🙁

    many thanks,
    Tim! – t.r.mullaly@gmail.com

  • bec bex November 9, 2011 at 5:07 PM

    Hi Pip,

    I really like the bike,
I think the books deserve some looks.

  • Jessica November 9, 2011 at 5:06 PM

    Hi Pip,

I've been meaning to comment on here for a while – and now seems like a good time.. so.

I have been interning at an organisation just around the corner from you on the cnr of smith street and alexandra pde, at a place called Evolve (they are amazing – please check them out everyone) and the best part about the internship – apart from the learning experience etc, is that I get an hour lunch break every day. So ive been exploring the area, and decided last friday that I would make the trip to your shop!
I had been meaning to for so long, and enjoyed it so much! The window display is amazing, and it felt surreal to be around the bits and pieces that you post on your blog and print in your books!

So, thanks for the lovey lunch break Pip!

    Love Jess

I need, I want, I love.. this would be the best Christmas present ever. One of my wishes would be that Melbourne turned into Amsterdam where most people road bikes instead of cars. These bikes remind me so much of the Dutch bikes they use over there, I'll have to come down and have a test ride. Good Luck everyone….

  • skittykitty November 9, 2011 at 11:23 AM

Hi pip, I LOVE all your stuff. But do I have a bike tale to tell.
My lovely sister in-law wanted a bike for her 40th Birthday in Feb and she got a helmet and a basket on the day and my brother( great guy) thought he had ordered the bike from a large retail outlet, but they don't do orders only enquiries and so the bike never came. Meanwhile the same weekend that he "ordered' the bike he found a lovely jacket he which he couldn't resist and spent the bike money on the jacket which has since been stolen (karma). So to date my sister in-law has a lonely helmet and basket and no chance of a bike in the near future as finances have changed. I would love to win her this bike as she is kind, sharing , caring, nurturing, volunteering and deserving. As this year is our Inaugural Handmade Family Christmas (yes those books will be wonderful for that too) and I cant make her a real bike I would love to win this for her, and make up for my brother slackness.
    Warmest wishes

  • Violet and Rose November 9, 2011 at 10:14 AM

OMG. We had "the bike" discussion in our house last night. My family LOVES bike riding, sadly, I miss out (cue the violins!) Our girls have grown so quickly that my bike went to my bean pole 11 year old, her bike went to my almost bean pole almost 8 year old. My husband went out and bought himself a new bike because he is in a team for the Eastlink ride, and quite frankly, having someone tell him his bike was "vintage" was not so cool. I thought it was, buy anyhoo … So, I want a new bike too! And I want a Jelly bean bike! They are like sunshine on wheels. Thanks Pip, a very cool give away.

  • Kat November 9, 2011 at 10:13 AM

Wow, what a great prize. Petrol is $2.00 a litre here on King Island so a bike would be GREAT to get around about the Island with my 3 year old. I can just see us popping to the shops on my mint pink bike, I would of course have to add a little basket at the front.
I would also love your books Pip. I have ordered them before from our very very very small library but they take forever to arrive, but they were much appreciated when they did make it. No book shops here!

What perfect timing – a new bike for my birthday. I recently started back at yoga and was thinking about how nice it would be to ride there. And a jellybean bike would certainly turn heads along the way, especially down Chapel St! They are the most eye-catching bikes I've ever seen. And then after riding I can relax with one of your gorgeous books Pip. Sounds like heaven. Thank you for making my birthday so very special.

My new year's resolution for 2012 is to learn how to ride a bike (seriously, at thirty-mumble, not being able to cycle is getting humiliating, especially living in Melbourne!). I'm sure thinking about how cute I'd look on a Jellybean with a rad homemade seat cover would be all the motivation I'd need!

    Thanks for the comp 🙂

  • Em :) November 9, 2011 at 8:28 AM

Oh my. This might just be the prize of a lifetime, I'm not even being sarcastic (for once). The Jellybean bikes are AMAZING, they just look so funky with all the different colour combinations, but they're also practical, because they're ACTUAL road bikes, not those bikes that are highly decorative but a pain in the butt (literally!) to try and ride. Chrome, mustard, pink, powder blue!?!?! There are so many options, but I do like the mint and pink combo. Cutesy. Not just the bikes, a whole library of Pip??!! YES PLEASE!!
Email is pink_pansy_wish_fairy(at)hotmail.com if (or when) you would like me to claim my prize 🙂

LOVE the purple and white one at the end! I'm the only one in my family without a bike (except the 9 week old of course) and if I won one of these I would have the coolest of them all! AND, we could enjoy family bike rides. Also, I have been using any free time I get to craft so I would get a lot of inspiration from your books (of which I own none of I'm sad to say). Thank you for the opportunity! teegank@gmail.com

  • Emma November 8, 2011 at 10:02 PM

Well that's just amazing! Must be the best giveaway ever – a bike AND books, wow. I was thinking of a colour combo that we could all ride in our family, seeing as we're all a similar size… then I hopped over to Jellybean and discovered a turquoise frame with pink rims and white tyres.. and suddenly it all became clear – the bike would be all mine!! I would add a small basket, pop in one of the books and ride off into the sunset, smiling all the way! Te he!!

Wishing you all the best and keeping my fingers crossed!

  • Anna Maria November 8, 2011 at 9:51 PM

Wow such a fantastic giveaway. I've never seen so many comments. I don't know how you'll pick. Hmmm, what to say? How about…

    My life in bikes.

I was given my first bike for X-mas when I was five. It was a pink Strawberry Shortcake number. I don't think I have ever been more excited about a gift in my life. It was fabulous! It had spokey dokes, a basket, a jingly bell, streamers, training wheels, and yep, you guessed, it smelt of strawberries! Needless to say, by the time I was 11, I'd well and truly outgrown that bike.

In what I can only guess was an attempt to top the Strawberry Shortcake no., my mum and her friend 'bespoked' her friend's daughter's old bike for my birthday. It was a 70s girls bike. They painted it with orange enamel paint, recycled the spokey dokes and streamers from the Strawberry no., painted polka dots and flowers on the seat and covered it all over with Holly Hobbie stickers. Ah, I knew you'd be impressed! However my love for it was short lived. By the time I was 13 and had to ride it to high school every day… it wasn't so cool anymore.

I begged night and day for a new bike and (understandably reluctantly) my mum handed down Holly Hobbie and bought me a 1980s hot-pink Repco multi-speed. And I loved that bike to death. Literally! I'd be riding that bike now if it weren't reduced to a pile of rust in my parents backyard.

No. 4 came to me in a Carlton Street… vintage, choc brown, cane basket with plastic flowers and a 'free to a good home' sign round it's bars. I kid you not. It was beautiful. My housemates loved it too, and in what I can only think must have been driven by pregnancy hormones (and a fair dose of goodwill) rather than argue about who actually owned the bike (given that many a person had walked it up to the CERES workshop for some TLC) I left it to the household when I moved out. I know !!!

My little man was gifted a retro BMX that my brother built out of hard rubbish last year, but mama has no bike to ride. I think bikes are kinda like pets. I find it hard to just walk into a store. I've been trying to psychicly(sp?) draw one my way, envisioning it's presence at the local country ops and trash and treasures, but to no avail… could this be no. 5?

Yep, I'd love to win the bike, of course, who wouldn't and all of your fabulous books too Pip. It would make my year… and for a rather fabulous summer of crafting and cycling. x

Recently I found an old journal of mine from when I was 14. I read that I tried riding my bike with my eyes closed. It didn't work and I crashed into something LOL. If I were to win this MOST amazing giveaway, I would not only be the proud owner of a bike once more (having not owned one since I were a girl) and I would never want to close my eyes as I would have so many gorgeous books to read. Thank you to everyone for your generosity. Fingers and toes crossed here xx Janelle

  • Kylie November 8, 2011 at 9:23 PM

Reminds me of a song " Ridin' along on a pushbike honey when I noticed you…You looks so pretty as you were ridin' along…" I would definately be singing that song riding one of those bikes, yes I would! Wonder if I could prop up the books in my basket and peek at the pictures as I go along?!Hmmm maybe not, I'll just have to stop off at the park for a picnic Yay.

  • Michelle November 8, 2011 at 9:15 PM

I would sell my car and dink my kids to school if I won that bike!

    xx

  • Little Bird, Big Chip November 8, 2011 at 9:07 PM

I have been thinking all Winter about a new bike for my Summer jaunts. I already have THE BEST helmut to go with it, a lovely watermelon striped one, a melon for a melon. Bike riding really is the best, it clears your head, you get to smell awesome smells, see the birds and lets not forget, get to where you are going!

A new pushie that I could make my single speedy obsession. Add a vintage cycling cap, short MM@M's frock and cute pumps – cycle chic has a new name, but it still tastes like jellybeans 🙂 Join me for a spin, and if you can't ride – I'll dink you!

My only fear if I win is having to dragging my kids away from the bike kicking and screaming as they try to taste, lick and nibble on the yumminess that is my new Jelly Bean Bike… At least when they have a quiet moment I'll know where to find them… Sneaking another taste… Great giveaway Pip. Fingers crossed.

Suggested Meet me at Mike's/Jellybean combos:

    1. The Christmas Special: Crocheted baubles hanging off a red and green Jellybean, while wearing comedy Santa beard. Babes! With Balls! On Bikes!

    2. A bike with all the colours of Bronte's cushion, but with a basket on the front carrying Bronte looking all non-plussed and slightly perturbed.

    3. Lion pajama bag meets red, yellow and green bike uptown as a tribute to Rastafari everywhere.

    4. A stealthy black bike, ridden by yours truly while wearing with fox in the bed quilt as cape….and maybe just the cape, with only an embroidered map of Tassie loincloth for modesty?

I do love me a bike and a book, but not at the same time. That would be dangerous. x x

  • Kim November 8, 2011 at 7:59 PM

Hey Pip! This is amazing, and it sounds like an awesome local company. I'm going to investigate, and hopfully pick a nice dour bike, that will hopefully start me riding to and from uni, and to the shops! What a fitness kick! There's also this charity bike ride for cancer I'd like to do next year… I think your books are ace, and would be great for Chrissy! x

  • Josephine P November 8, 2011 at 7:59 PM

How to choose? My daughter would insist on pink, but then she might insist on keeping the bike too. Maybe better to choose aqua and mint – refreshing!

  • Anonymous November 8, 2011 at 7:58 PM

What a great bike to help me even up the person to bike ratio in my house! My bike tragic husband has a different bike for nearly everyday of the week, (no, I'm not kidding and guess what he wants for his
40th birthday!) and my sons are not far behind. It would be the perfect 'show off' bike to ride along the Noosa River on a summers afternoon.

I am collecting bikes and I am trying to learn to sew. Being able to pick my own colours would mean I could make the perfect bike to complement my collection. Reading these books would mean I may actually learn to sew in a straight line someday. And therefore be able to cycle to my friends house who has babies and give them not crap wonky toys but awesome ones. The end. Oh. And this is an ahhhh mazing giveaway.

When I was five years old, I got my first bike – a Blue Lawrence. I have no idea what that means, but it was blue, and I sat on Santa’s knee and I begged for it. 30 years later, I’m begging for another bike: a blue Jellybean!! With green wheels! But seriously; how fantastic to recreate my first childhood biking experience. These jellybeans are stunning!

If I won, I would totally rock out with an eggshell blue bike with red tyres, and I'd get one of my clever making mates to build me a ukulele rack for it, so I could ride to gigs!

Regardless, I'm gonna have to check out Jellybean next time I'm in Melbourne….

Congrats on the new book – it looks like a cracker….

  • Anonymous November 8, 2011 at 6:59 PM

Wow there are so many happy entries! I agree with Sonja King above who mentioned that those bikes take her right back to childhood freedom! Who would ever want to forget that! I’m a povo uni student who doesn’t remember the last time she rode a bike with that childlike spirit of adventure, (actually I think it was right before stackhats became compulsory in the 80’s) so haven’t pedalled around since then, golly I hope I haven’t forgotten how! but I’d sure like to take a ride one day in a nice little jellybean daydream. I had so much fun looking at all the different colour combinations and I only wonder how cool they’d be with spokey-dokeys!! (I hope they still make those).
I’m planning on making heaps of fantastic gifts for my loved ones this Christmas, quite inspired by my copy of Meet me at Mikes and I’d adore treasuring your other books just as much.
Anyway thank you always for all the lovely and heart-warming inspiration, and good luck to everyone who enters this awesome comp!

  • Greg Lexiphanic November 8, 2011 at 4:53 PM

    OK so true story:
When I was 4, I moved to South Africa with my parents for about 4 months. While we were there, my parents bought me my first bike. It was a red and yellow BMX with training wheels. I used to ride it around quite a bit.
A few weeks before we were due to return to Australia, we went on a cruise off the Cape of Good Hope. Upon my return, I ran around the back of the house to ride my bike. When I saw it, I was shocked to discover it completely in pieces. It was a very sad experience.
I cried to my parents but they said "Maybe we'll get you a new one when we get back to Australia."

That never happened. I lived too far from school to ride there and the streets around our house were often so steep my parents didn't think it safe.

I never learned to ride a bicycle, and so have never owned one.

I would love a Jellybean bicycle! It reminds me of being a kid and I think it would help me pick up where I left off all those years ago.

Won't you give a 32-year-old a second chance at discovering the joys of cycling? 🙂

My name is Greg: greg [at] lexiphanic [dot] com.

  • Talia November 8, 2011 at 4:37 PM

Wowee! What an excellent prize. Even just one of your books would be an exciting prize, but FOUR! And a lovely bike to go along with it as well. What a wonderful summer someone could have winning that amazing loot, whether they share it with someone else, or keep it for themselves. I'm imagining riding that bike down to the lake, and finding a nice shady, breezy spot to read all those lovely books, maybe do a little crochet or some stitching…

  • Joanne November 8, 2011 at 3:46 PM

    Holy wow.

I'm not even too sure what to type, but gosh, everything mentioned is just so wonderfully pretty.
    The bicycles are just dainty!

If i were to have one in my possession, i'd make a small ivory wicker basket attached to the front containing the four books written by Pip Lincolne, and i'd ride to the top of my town on a windy day so the waif thin kite on the back can make lovely patterns in the clouds, and i'd meet my dearest friends and we'd all take turns in reading aloud from each novel until sunset. Then we'd do it again the next day.

    This is beyond brilliant.
    Much love;

This would be amazing! I have been lusting after these pretty bikes for so long, to win one would be a dream! Plus the awesome books, heaven in a prize pack 🙂

  • Amelia November 8, 2011 at 3:45 PM

Oh this sounds like the most sumptuous prize. Ever. Although I doubt many 16 girls would be as thrilled as I to be able to win your books and a bike 🙂 But for me, I think it is perfect. I would like to win, but someone else is probably much more credible for the prize but I thought I'd enter anyway 🙂 Have a lovely day Pip!
My email is amelia.drinkwater@hotmail.com if you do by some chance want to contact me 🙂

  • Star November 8, 2011 at 3:43 PM

O yes, a bike… much safer than a horse, much funner than a car I will yarn bomb a helmet and away I go. And well your books If I won, I'd have to give them away, because A girl just doesn't need 2 copies of Pips books, and if I did that I would get into heaven, cause even god knows, how generous and awesome thats is, and how hard it would be.

Pip, you rock! I have been thinking of buying both your book(s) and a bike recently, but just as quickly squashed the thoughts on a cannot-possibly-afford it basis. A Jellybean bike for me would have green and purple in it, definitely. Or maybe blue and yellow. Or…

  • Traceyg November 8, 2011 at 3:40 PM

Fantastic giveaway!! What GORGEOUS bikes…oh to be able to choose my own colour combo. Have been promising my 6 year old I will get a bike so he and I can bike to school together (I've never been that "bike" coordinated). One of these would be perfect with a vintage basket on the front. Of course, would LOVE, LOVE your books too Pip, as currently only have your first one.

  • boldaslove November 8, 2011 at 3:38 PM

  • Belinda November 8, 2011 at 3:36 PM

If I was lucky enough to win…

I'd have a greeny coloured bike, make a matching bike seat cover and start a neighbourhood bike gang (of the friendly kind) so we could all treddle around together! Maybe we could have noisy bells too?

And I'd have to give the books I own away as Christmas presents (except for Make Hey – it's going to be my congratulatory-finishing-uni-present to myself!!)

    Hooray for giveaways!

goodness gracious! this would make the perfect solution to deciding to get fit, stay local and reduce my footprint. My boy had a single speed in emerald green with tan handles and seat, but i think i would go for a sky blue or fire engine red one. and definitely make all sorts of embellishments like nice postcards in the spokes and a rad seat cover and probably a basket too. then boy and i could ride up to the cafe for breakfast and ride home again to start work – bliss. 🙂

I've seen your books in Brisbane at Folio Books and up in Mackay where I'm currently living. Those bikes are so beautiful. If I won one, I would start a bike community group up in Mackay to show off it's beauty and of course to meet the lovely people up here. Plus winning those books would be very inspiring for my sewing machine. Thanks for sharing about Jellybean Bikes! And for all the amazing posts.

  • knitgirl66 November 8, 2011 at 3:14 PM

I woke up in the middle of the night about a week ago and said out loud that I want to learn to ride a bike – something I have been wanting to do for the last 35 years or so!!! Here is my chance to win a beautiful bike as well as lots of Pip Lincolne inspiration.
You may make my dream come true!!

Thanks for supporting Jellybean Bikes, Pip and the cycling community. On your bikes kids!

  • Moments with Me and Mine November 8, 2011 at 2:58 PM

Those bikes are very cool, just completed my first triathlon this weekend and reckon a jelly bean bike would look very spiffy coming over the finish line and I have been entering every competition possible to win your books, I simply can't afford them right now but desperately WANT, NEED them.

  • Cass Micheli November 8, 2011 at 2:58 PM

  • Zahra November 8, 2011 at 2:54 PM

Once upon a time, there was a little pixie called Zizi. She lived in a smooth hole in an oak tree. She loved flowers and their bright colours, and would sometimes make hats for herself. Her favourite was a bright pink foxglove, on top of which she dusted some yellow pollen for a bit of pop. She even decorated the walls of her house with petals of red, orange, gold and purple.

One day, while looking for the perfect gum nut cap to decorate, Zizi accidentally trod on a spell that was left for an evil warlock. Immediately, she grew over 50 times her size, and her tiny wings dried and fell off. She could not fly to her little oak house anymore, nor would she fit in it. She was now a fully grown human girl.

What a shock for Zizi! But ever the optimist, she said to herself, 'This will be different. But maybe I can find a way to still get around without my wings, maybe I can still make the colourful things I love."

Zizi would love to win a set of your books, Pip, and she would get the hang of riding a Jellybean bike in no time. She would probably pick a pink frame, to remind her of her foxglove hat of long ago.

  • Hattie Hen November 8, 2011 at 2:51 PM

What a great prize. If I won that bike and book pack I would ride to my local breadshop and buy a baguette and pop it in my bike basket, just so I could pretend I was living in the countryside in France…instead of the droll suburb I actually live in. :o)

  • naomi irvin November 8, 2011 at 2:49 PM

Round round wheels goin' round round
I'd look so pretty going to the other side of town…. on one of these jelly bean bikes!
Plus if I don't happen to win – you've reminded me to put sew la tea do on my christmas list!

  • Ali November 8, 2011 at 2:48 PM

Love this! I started riding to work early this year and have kept it up almost every day, so that just proves a bike is no passing fad. But I only have a daggy old old hybrid mountain bike, and I live in the funky inner-west of Sydney where everyone rides cool retro ones (some people have brightly-coloured flowers all over their nice baskets, which I think you would like), so I really do need this bike to look the part :). And I'd love your books too – I keep flicking through them in Pentimento.

Down the road from where I work there is a cafe with some guerilla crochet out the front, and they have an old tandem bike with crochet seat covers. I just thought you'd like to know that. I blogged pictures of it here: http://mannainomers.blogspot.com/2011/07/fun-things-1.html

  • kyliealysha November 8, 2011 at 2:43 PM

So many choices to colour my ride at JellyBeanBikes! I have no idea which one to choose – they are all delicious, it might take me a good couple of hours to come to a final decision. I love to support local businesses and JellyBeanBikes and Hardie Grant Books are both super rad! I've been wanting to visit Meet Me At Mikes for a while and I don't know if I'll make it to Melbourne before it closes it's doors – Pip your books would help me channel some of the craftiness from your store. Thanks for hosting this amazing comp. Big Love Helen@hookedoncrafts.net

  • Felicity November 8, 2011 at 2:26 PM

Oh Pip how my heart would skip,
If I win this bike I would spin.
With my love, my loving fellow,
On a bike of pink and and yellow.
    My mind would be whirring,
Whilst the wheels they'd be purring.

    Then once home I'd alight
    and with busy delight.
Sew, knit and play for the rest of the day
Inspired by looks into your fabulous books!

Happy day Lovely You and thank you for introducing me to another excellent Aussie company.

But whoever wins will be so lucky and happy with their prize I'm sure. I have followed JB bikes on FB to give support for their generous offer.

  • Tas November 8, 2011 at 2:16 PM

As much as I love your blog, Pip, I am thankful that I am not one of your nearest and dearest friends right now- cos then I'd have to choose between our friendship and the chance to win.

The books would be fabulous (that goes without saying) and those bikes are just divine. Crossing fingers and toes over here!

  • Luz November 8, 2011 at 2:14 PM

This would be a two part most welcome gift!
Recently moved to Sydney with a toddler and a preschooler and pregnant with baby n3,we all have discovered how fun it can be to stay at home.
Craft has exploded on our dinner table as scribble everywhere, courtesy of my boy.
And I have found some time for interrupted reading, so I would love to get my hands on your books and after baby n 3 arrives, get some " me time" going for a bike ride before hubby goes to work!
    Thanks!

I just showed these Jellybean bikes to my best girly friend who walks everywhere and she almost did a double flip somersault in the pike position in my lounge room because she loves them so much. She hasn't got a crafty bone in her body though so the awesome craft books could be mine and the bike hers. I said I would even sew her the super cute seat cover.

Oh I would so love to win this,my husband is a cyclist and rides about 20,000km a year. I on the other hand have a very heavy and daggy Kmart bike(its a little embarrasing) We also live on the beautiful coast of Wollongong and we have a great bike track along the beach, so it would be sure to get some use! And ofcourse not to forget your awesome books Pip,I would love to win them so much too. What a great giveaway xxMichelle

Those bikes are ADORABLE! They come in colours I actually like! I've worked out what colour I would get even! Do you want to see? It's called the mint green machine of course! http://www.jellybeanbikes.com.au/build/mint_green_machine Dont you just love it! I hope I win so I can make an adorable seat cover for it!

Thanks for being super awesome and writing such inspiring books Pip!

This bike takes me back to the wonderful freedom of my childhood where my brothers and I would go riding all day in the countryside. Mum never knew where we were but it didn't matter, we always got home safe, bar the occasional flat tyre!
The books look so interesting and with long service leave due next year I will need some inspiration to get crafty again. Looks like these books could fulfil that need and keep my occupied for a few months at least!

I LOVE craft books and the like!

    Great giveaway 🙂

  • Kellie Bright November 8, 2011 at 1:37 PM

I'm going to use my super new crafty books to teach me how to knit so I can yarn-bomb my new Jellybean bike. Not only will it look hilarious it will keep her warm in winter!

That's my kind of jellybean! (Although, to be fair, the lolly version is also my kind of jellybean…) – Maddie, Brisbane QLD

Ok, so it's my birthday on Boxing Day. This would be a lovely present for me xxx

  • AlexLeak November 8, 2011 at 1:34 PM

I would love to ride my colourful jellybean bike down the bike path on a sunny day, so I can sit in the park on my Pip inspired quilt with my friends feasting and drinking in the rays.

What a fabulous giveaway. I just moved to Melbourne and a fancy pants new bike and some new crafty mojo would certainly assist me in settling in!

  • Bianca November 8, 2011 at 1:33 PM

What a fantastic giveaway! I was only thinking of getting a new bike the other day too, you must have read my mind! I would definitely ride the bike all around town! 🙂

My hubby Mr Surfer Dude has just lost his carspace at work in the CBD. He's on the buses, but I'd love him to bike it for his and our environments health. There's even an ace punt you can get from near us across the bay. All he needs is a bike with attitude for motivation.

  • Simone November 8, 2011 at 1:32 PM

Oh my lordy! They are adorable! I've just moved house very close to what must be one of the busiest cycling tracks in Melbourne – right near the Yarra Boulevard in Kew. Every day I see hundreds of shiny bikes zoom past my house and I'm too embarrassed to get my skanky, rusty, crappola old bike out. I'd be very proud to ride a Jellybean bike though. In fact I think I'd be the envy of all the lycra heads out there. Maybe not but I'd definitely be a happy camper. I mean rider!

And we're planning a "no TV" summer so your books would come in very handy Pip. x

  • jodesmac November 8, 2011 at 1:31 PM

wow! this is an awesome prize. I am in the market for a bike for Christmas and had just started looking. These are gorgeous! thanks for the chance to win xx

  • Jess November 8, 2011 at 1:30 PM

    Oh. My. Gosh!!!!!!

I would LOVE to win this! First, because I haven't yet got Pip's books (I know, what's wrong with me, eh?) and I'd not only love to read them all, and do the cool crafty stuff in there over the holidays, but I can then share them with my lovely bloggy readers, too, which is possibly the best bit!

As for the AMAZING bikes… well, if I had one of those I would be out riding around the countryside where I live – past the strawberry and pineapple fields – and I would also most definitely have a reason to go down to Sandgate more often and ride along the boulevard, wearing a pretty vintage dress. I would look super-cool.. except for my helmet…

Do you have a tutorial in one of those books on how to make a helmet look cool, Pip? 😉

    Jess xx

What an amazing and inspirational giveaway, encourage exercise which I can do with my 4 kids, as well as when I get some alone time I can relax and indulge in a book!

  • Rie November 8, 2011 at 1:15 PM

Wow, what a super ace prize! If I'd win.. I'd try my best to not read the books & ride the bike at the same time as I'd ride into a tree…. Maybe I'd bike myself to the nearest park and read the books there instead! Awesome!
