Yes – by a landslide the winner of Mike’s Make-a-Long for February is CozyMemories and her amazing Caterpillar Pincushion!
There were some amazing entries – from beginners to more experienced crafters – and it was so lovely to see everyone’s fabulous work! Congratulations to you all – and thanks so much for joining in! Could our lovely winner email me to organise delivery of her lovely prize?!
This month, the Make-a-Long Theme is PAPER! So get to it and get crafty, peeps! And this month – the prize will be a copy of my new book! PLUS a prize pack of Mike’s made things too! Yikes! So you’d best join in!! I will be choosing the finalists at the end of the month – based on the most commented photos at Flickr and also my personal faves – and then you can all vote for your favourites to decide the winner on this very blog!
To take part you can join in at any time in March – and comment here to let us know you are in! Make something from paper – you could collage, make stationery, print, re-purpose, origami… the sky is the limit! Then upload images of your Papery work to the Flickr Pool (tag them MARCH and PAPER please!). We would love to go peep at your craftiness and see how clever you are!
Be sure to frequent the Flickr pool to comment-crafty and see what great work everyone is doing! Oh, and here’s a button to put on your blog – to link back to this post.
xx Pip

Jenny from Chalk! You were the only person in the whole wide blogging world who knew the answer! The answer was indeed DIDI CONN who played FRENCHIE in Grease… and JAN MINER who was Madge in the Palmolive ‘You’re soaking in it’ ads! Yay! You win a violet and rose apron! Whoo-hoo! How good were those Palmolive ads? And how lovely was gorgeous Frenchie’s pink hair?!
I have a gazillion things to do in the next week.. Rin is back in hospital with gammy tonsils… my foot hurts… i have to take all the photos for meetmeatmabels.com, plus lots of fun to be head preparing the ‘A to Zee of Stitch-ery’ manuals for our upcoming stitching nights! Anyway, in avoidance, i am going to an auction of general household items today.. in the hope of picking up some artificial flowers, enamel pots and general stuff that I probably don’t really need.
I am very excited as Belinda from tutti-fruitti has confirmed that she and her lovely sister are coming to the next stitching night!
We’re looking for new Jewellery at Mikes.. so if you know any one in the Handmade Community who is making lovely things.. tell them to drop us a line!
Also.. anyone that does stationery… let me know!
xx mikes
Hi Pip – I sent you an email about making up some samples of stationery for you. Let me know – Not sure if my email jsut went to your junk box or missing in email land somewhere!
Hello there, I wonder if you might be interested in some of my creations, including unique cards made from vintage American fabrics and notions (all bought from US) plus from 1980s British designers like Tinmey Fowler; old children’s books (like Ladybird); Scottish maps, also I make coasters, keyrings and bags. My etsy site gives you some idea, http://www.rosiesretrostyling.etsy.com, but there is a lot more, and I would be happy to send some samples. I live in Scotland and supply shops in UK and USA. Rosie.
I am in Canberra and I make jewellery (amongst other things) which you can see at http://www.redinstead.com.au 🙂
WOW! I knew all the weird stuff floating around in my head would come in handy one day! What a lovely start to the day to find out I won a prize. Fabulous.
I know you have probably mentioned this in a number of blogs, but have you already had the window display with everyone’s pictures in it? I hope I didn’t miss it because I sent mine in and it would have been great to see!
