It’s Day Two of my Blog Tour today, and I’m posting over at A Little Bird Told Me and also over here at Tale Peddler’s. A Little Bird Told Me is hosting my ‘Sew A Vintage Pot Holder Tutorial‘ and Josephine is featuring my ‘Inspiration Junket’ post. It’s been totally busy around here, on the writing front, but luckily I’m totally in that writing mode and am taking it all in my stride.
Yesterday I also wrote a post about BLOG FAME over at Make and Meaning, if that sounds like something you’d like to click over to.
I’m still feeling oogey. Not sure what that’s all about, but I’m totally trying to pace myself and be sensible and not get too tired. Ari and I are watching one episode each night of this. It’s great. We are really enjoying all the footage of Gerry drawing and all the beautiful shots of insects and animals. I wish I was in Corfu this very minute, I can tell you that for sure!
At the moment I have some bacon in the oven, for the kid’s lunch sandwiches. We’re having roasted chops with tomatoes and potatoes and garlic for dinner. I think I’ll make some bread today too. Bread is so important for mopping up juices, I feel. And I don’t eat the chops, by the way, I just eat the vegies. I’m not hugely meaty, unless it’s a lovely piece of lamb at Est. That I can do. That is where my Sister had her wedding luncheon. It was lovely. The best service I have ever had, anywhere (including the old Stephanie’s)!
I’m embroidering today and re-testing some projects. And then going over my writing for the book again. I’ve been sneaking in some granny squares. They are bumpy ones using popcorn stitch and lots of DC and Treble too. I’ve been making the Rosehip flowery ones as well – the pattern for those is over here. I’m going to write a post for my Blog Tour too. Tomorrow I will be over here at BigPrint Little.
I have been sneaking looks at this blog (which I am so sure you all know and love) and drinking more Chai thanks to Amy Karol’s tip and also looking at this lovely blog too (it’s written by Hello Tiger!) I love the felt ball wreath and this wall display and these doyley covered speakers! Look at these glitter globes at Dos Family! Cute! And this is so very, very great. Tipped off by this blog!
So, what have you been doing? Do you have any ace things to share with us?
xx Pip
I have a hot watter bottle as a constant companion in winter 🙂
South of Johnston is kid friendly! We had a little boy with us and they were VERY lovely to us and to him! xx
I just wanted to tell you that over the years Ive been thru heck and its always comforting to me to come back and read your blog.
🙂 xoxoxo lee anne formerly annie oakleaves 🙂
Yay, thanks for sharing nice things Pip!
I can't wait to get my hot water bottle out, it was the most beautifully embroidered cover that my mother sewed for me when I was little 🙂
i love a good hottie & my electric blanket at night.
i love to keep warm.
have fun driving around!
?
You have the 2nd best job in the world!! I teach a K/1 class and I think that it would be hard to top…but I would give it a try if I could be you! You have such a wonderful writing style and I love reading your blogs. You have inspired me to have a go at craft and sewing and all those scary things..thankyou!! I love exploring my creative side and I am starting to get more daring!! We have just bought one of those metho heaters, that are a real burning fire (which psychologically is good for the spirit!) but cheap to run. That and my gorgeous babooshka hottie that my 3 boys gave me for Mother's Day are keeping me toastie warm and feeling loved 🙂
I'm well! And chilly! And getting belted from the inside by a small gymnast. I shall be in Melbourne in early June and I am SO ready for Melbourne coffee! And fires. And funky hot water bottle covers 🙂
Yeah , it's pretty fresh up here in Brisbane too. I had to put on a 3/4 tshirt to walk my darlings to school. I did put on socks but my feeties got a bit sweaty so it was back to some ballet flats. Ah it's a hard life I know!!!
I like to wear my hottie in my hoodie.
I'm still chilled through but with warm shoulders.
And a car!! Wohoooooo.
We're only an hour and a half away you know. x
ooh, looking forward to your roadtrip stories. You lucky thing!
Is South of Johnston kid friendly? I went into a gertrude st cafe with a two-year-old recently, and the barista looked at us, rolled his eyes and audibly said "here we go…". It's pretty common in Fitzroy sadly. Would love some new, kid-friendly cafes to visit!
Hi Pip!
Here are some things I want to tell you:
Today I took my copy of "Sew, la, tea, do" to work to re-read in the quiet moments (I work in a macaroon shop) and it re-reads beautifully! I was totally inspired all over again! It's a classic Pip!
Also I wanted to tell you it's blimmin cold in NZ right now. Thermals to bed, scarves around the house, toting hotties everywhere.
Oh and one more thing, I harvested the last of my rhubarb yesterday and I'm making some hopefully awesome rhubarb schnapps. That will keep the cold at bay.
Oh my gosh, YES! I am starting to feel the cold, too! It's all about a fluffy dressing gown and a crochet blanket over here. How exciting, looking forward to seeing your adventures in a fancy car 😀 xo
Hi pip just wondering if you have posted the pattern instructions for the beautiful blanket you are crocheting?? I would love to give that one a go!
Thanks pup you are totally awesome!
When I was studying and at home during the day, I refused to turn the heater on (due to my student income) and when I was cold I had a sliding scale – jumper, more socks, couch blankie, hot water bottle, cup of tea, another hot water bottle, and if I was STILL cold, I would take the laptop into bed and work from there.
