Hello peaches! How are you? I am good! Tired and happy and enjoying a little bit of time away from home (but missing the peeps, of course!
You know, I have a couple of these cute books. Have you seen/got any? I walked into a bookstore here in Bali yesterday and they had the set (the English versions). I bought a new one, because the nice dude behind the counter gave us a bunch of old newspapers (which we’d been trying to track down all day) for free. It seemed like a good idea to buy something because a) he was super nice and b) the bookstore was actually brimful of good books. The plants and animals one came home with me (I already have the ‘cute animals’ one). Win!
I am really not the best at drawing, so these books totally help me out! Perhaps you might like them too?
You can also check out the author, Sachiko Umoto’s really cute site here.

I love these books and I have a little library of them! I love to pick one up and have a little draw. Fab!
I LOVE these books. I haven’t bought any yet but have been coveting them. Found a wonderful source of kawaii and zakka books and magazines at a great Etsy shop called Pomadour’s Craft Cafe. Not to mention a stack of other cute Japanese inspired goodness.
Sachiko’s site really is tres cute….
I even like the language that it is typed in..Cantonese or Mandarin???
It just adds to the overall sweetness.
Illustration School lets draw plants etc looks great. Glad you are having a happy time. The River Cafe looks great- menu looked yum. Love the ducks! Love you Mum xx
I am supposed to draw fairly well…since I make a living out of it…But still, I have ALL Shachiko Umoto books, I learned a few things with her, but most of it, I love to go through for inspiration and draw things my way. I find it so relaxing. It’s one of my favorite thing when I have a little leisure time, I am glad you like them too ^^
Oh Delphine! I love your work!!! SUPER BEAUTIFUL!!! Thank you for your comment (and for saying hello!) Love to you! xx Pip
You are so very welcome! I love your work too,I have one of your books by my bed stand, in the part of the library where I put “the favorite ones that always put me in a good mood”…xx and love back to you!
I’m pretty shocking at drawing but I found this book in a gallery gift shop in Edinburgh (love gift shops!) and now always use it to create characters for the front of handmade birthday cards etc 🙂
