Hello Peaches!!

It’s time for one of my very favourite things! Taking Stock! Did you know that this exercise is in my upcoming book too? It really is, because I think it’s a great way to snapshot where you are, who you are spending time with, how you are feeling and more…

Here’s my September snapshot from Ubud (and maybe you’d like to play along too?) You can share any Taking Stock themed shots on Instagram too #takingstock (If you want to to do that! I do!)

Making : Bali Coffee – so thick and strong and delicious (much sugar and little stirring for me!)
Cooking : Nothing at all! We are being cooked for which is complete treat!
Drinking : Lots and lots of water
Reading: Schedules for the BHB Creative Retreat
Wanting: To hug and smooch my peeps at home
Looking: At so much beautiful green – tropical foliage and rice paddies are everywhere
Playing: The Roots to remind me of Ari
Deciding: What to do about my frizzy hair
Wishing: For nothing much really – I’m super content
Enjoying: Letting the days roll by
Waiting: For my coffee to cool down
Liking: eating so many crunchy, healthy, delicious things
Wondering: How quickly the days will zoom by
Loving: Meeting so many new people
Pondering: How I manage my workflow at home
Considering: Making things a bit easier
Watching: Project Runway
Hoping: Everyone is happy at home
Marvelling: At noisy ducks every day – they are the best!
Needing: To go to the chemist later
Smelling: Frangipane
Wearing: Silver Birkenstocks – super comfy and cute!
Following: Delphine!
Noticing: How long it’s been since I had some girly time!
Knowing: I need to cut up fabric for our embroidery lesson later
Thinking: About TWO really cute new projects that hatched yesterday and the day before
Admiring:
Sorting: Craft supplies for lots of different projects
Buying: Nothing much
Getting: Used to the heat
Bookmarking: Paper Aeroplanes
Disliking: Mozzies (but I’ve only got one or two bites!)
Opening: Packets of tea
Giggling: SO much!
Feeling: Happy
Snacking:  On rice paper rolls and nasi goreng and satay
Coveting: A long bath when I get home
Wishing: You could be in two places at once
Helping: People talk about creativity
Hearing: People talk about creativity

A blank list for you…

Soooo… I enjoyed writing this list but in my recent I-just-had-a-baby-and-I’m-not-sleeping-much fogginess managed to post the Taking Stock list over my birth story entry and saved it…. Permanently erasing her (baby Love’s) birth story.

Oh how I wish I was infinitely more careful. At least I had fun completing the list and reflecting on days passed.

Will you be posting another list soon?

    Bella xx

Hi, just letting you know I’ve tried taking stock myself…I found it was not that easy, but I’ll keep doing it because it´s such a lovely simple way to capture life at a given point! Thank you!

Love your bright photos of Bali. I’ve never had much desire to visit but your posts have been enticing.

I’ve joined in this month. Such a good exercise, with the long list I had to think carefully about what I’ve been doing.

Love reading about your time in Ubud. What a beautiful place it looks. So so exciting that Delphine Doreau is a fan of yours and I read in her last reply that she has your book on her bedside. How wonderful!! I love her work so much. xx

Hi Pip! I love your blog! I decided to join in on taking Stock this month (http://mindfulmischief.blogspot.com.au/2014/09/joining-in-on-taking-stock.html) it was fun and I really enjoyed taking the time to reflect on what was going on for me, so thanks! Hope you’re enjoying Ubud! There is a little warung in the middle of the rice fields that cooks all organic food and it is so amazing! I hope you stumble across it 🙂 take care Bec:
