I thought it was HIGH TIME I did my March Taking Stock. I’ve really been doing quite a lot of different things and it’s always pretty nice to reflect on that and realise where I am (and how lucky I am, I guess!)

If you’d like to Take Stock in March – head to the bottom of this post and cut and paste the list across to your blog. If you’d like us to visit you, add yourself to the  LINKY list too (it’s also at the bottom of this post – but you have to actually visit my blog to see it, I think – it might not show on email or RSS).

Here is my list for March (so far!)

Making : A blanket for my friend Deefah – it’s well on the way to its final stages.
Cooking : Meatballs! Yum!
Drinking : A lot of tea. It’s getting colder and tea is just the ticket.
Reading: The newspapers – especially The Australian
Wanting: A bit more energy
Looking: At some beautiful flower Carly sent me on Friday.
Playing: Gold 104FM – cheesy 80s and 90s music for the win!
Deciding: on some boring money related stuff
Wishing: my hair colour did not wash out after one shampoo!
Enjoying: the cooler weather
Waiting: for my birthday! It’s on Friday! So close!
Liking: finding out about Balls’ Pyramid and the stick insects
Wondering: how people reconcile their bad decisions
Loving: sewing and crocheting and crafting cosily
Pondering: being led by the recommendations of others… and NOT being led.
Considering: how important perspective and kindness are
Buying: little presents for Cam – it was his birthday yesterday
Watching: Brothers & Sisters (still! And I still love Sally Field A LOT!)
Hoping: I get some sleep tonight. Last night was a bit disastrous in the snooze department.
Marvelling: At this great kid! If you can, watch the whole thing.
Cringing: when I look at a huge pile of filing I have to do
Needing: to eat some lunch pretty soon
Questioning: the Like Cycle
Smelling: toast
Wearing: yoga pants (I don’t do yoga… such a faker!) and a comfy tee
Following: Kate on her new adventure
Noticing: that my wanderlust is more about FEELINGS than places… interesting.
Knowing: Big Eyes is the best kind of film and it’s in cinemas later this week! Go see it!
Thinking: The Mirabel Foundation kid are going to love the bunnies people made for them (I’ll show you those tomorrow!)
Admiring: how great people can be
Sorting: my work tasks – I write everything in my diary and tick those suckers off all week-long.
Getting: excited about my book popping up in magazines. Thank you Yen!
Bookmarking: Mothering Buns!
Coveting: this book by one of my faves (I think I told you that already?!)
Disliking: people sharing violent/disturbing stuff on FB – I unfollow those people (sorry!)
Opening: lots of cute bunny packages
Giggling: at a video Kate shared featuring a really flighty chook
Feeling: glad to have nice pals to have lunch with
Snacking: on corn thins with chilli tomato dip
Wishing: money grew on trees
Helping: Rin & Joe go camping
Hearing: very annoying birds outside the door – not the pretty tuneful kid – the irritating kind

Wow, Brothers & Sisters AND The Gilmore Girls (oh, and This American Life). Me thinks you must be a kindred spirit 🙂

Just completed the March one – I was too excited to wait until April to try this. Love the idea!

I love this Pip. It’s a bit late and I’m too tired tonight to do my ‘taking stock’ but tomorrow morn I’m on the case! Thanks for sharing your beautiful insights, thoughts and finds xx

I am loving doing Taking Stock posts. Thank for the inspiration and the prompts I always look forward to sitting down and reflecting on what’s going on for me 🙂

I am loving the cooler weather too, although it looks like Summer is making it’s last ditch attempt to hang on today, with a forecast 36 degrees in western Sydney! Crazy! But I think it’s meant to cool down again by the weekend and I’m loving it. Just in time for a picnic in the park with friends. Autumn is really the best season for picnics, the weather is usually beautiful and you can sit in the sun without absolutely roasting and a cool breeze to clear away the cobwebs.

This is gorgeous Pip! I’m planning to make one that looks close to my patchwork upholster and I hope I’d be able to pull it off. Thanks for the inspiration. The colors were really lovely!

March already, crazy! Have a great month ahead!

I totally got in before you this month! Published my Taking Stock back on the 3rd. Thanks for the reflective opportunities xoxo

I try to do mine at the end of the month – as a reflection on the month that’s been – but it doesn’t always work out that way. So good everyone does it their own way and is having fun with it!

I used mine this month as a way of being motivated, and to spur me on to complete my tasks. When I was teaching we talked about reflective practice and about different types of reflection – in the action, on the action and after the action. Now that I can’t formally work anymore I really appreciate structures like these to keep me on track and feeling accomplished 🙂

Aw thanks Tash. I am sleepy already so that’s a good sign. Hope you are in your yoga pants not doing yoga RIGHT NOW! x

yay for the links. Hope others will link up. I will do mine either this Thursday or next. The Australian article was restricted access what was it about? Dying of curiosity now about people reconciling bad decisions. And yay for 80s and 90s music stations. Can’t wait to see your new book. And happy early birthday.

    Hey Pip!
I beat you to it with March…I did this last week, and got lots of cool responses too.
Such a nice way to get a quick insight into what is going on in someone else’s life/head.
    Thanks for the inspiration!
    xx Isabel
