The month is nearly over. How did we get here, for Pete’s sake?! Time is whizzing by, right? Is it just me? Is it you too?! Make it stop!
I thought I’d sneak in a little Taking Stock before it’s over and out for July. Maybe you’d like to Take Stock too? Scroll down for a blank list you can cut and paste into your notes or onto Facebook or onto a blog or Instagram, even.
Here’s my effort.
Making : A blanket, some squares, some cute chairs! Also rhymes!
Cooking : Potato salad, rice salad, soup, yummy chicken wings
Drinking : Gallons of tea
Reading: About my new favourite show, Stranger Things. And the parallels with this #frockalertandmore
Wanting: The DVD box set of McLeod’s Daughters to craft to. My internet is so slow. #StreamingIsHard
Looking: At the dark night
Deciding: What’s next
Wishing: On eleven eleven
Enjoying: The white chocolate you can buy at BigW – it’s really nice. Not sure if it’s ethical, but it’s nice.
Waiting: For the internet to load every single thing
Liking: News Breakfast on the ABC. Every day. Rain or shine. For ever.
Wondering: Why Carl Williams’ kids were put on telly last night.
Loving: Homemade wholemeal toast with Vegemite (soldiers!) and a boiled egg every morning
Listening: To Ari and Max and Rin tell me about good and interesting things
Considering: Moving some things around
Buying: 3 Seasons of Call The Midwife for my Nan.
Watching: The trees bending in the wind
Hoping: All my friends are a-okay
Marvelling: At how quickly our house gets really messy
Cringing: At Trump. Still.
Needing: To make some Brownies tomorrow.
Questioning: The Trump thing. Still.
Smelling: Jasmine rice. It’s cooling down before I salad it.
Wearing: Uggs and other cosy-making things.
Following: Anything about Stranger Things online
Noticing: There’s rain on the way
Knowing: It’s hard to please everyone
Thinking: About what I’m good at and what I’m not good at.
Admiring: Serene people.
Bookmarking: Greater Good
Coveting: Some new wine glasses
Disliking: The wind. The dishwasher. Honestly. The dirty dishes are always hidden in there. Just wash ’em.
Opening: The blinking dishwasher.
Giggling: At this.
Feeling: Like my back is annoyingly sore.
Helping: Ari work out what he wants to study in Year 11 and 12
Hearing: Rain. Told you.
Mixing: Potato salad dressing – Kewpie mayo, sliced onion, diced celery, 2 boiled eggs, salt, pepper
Slicing: Cherry tomatoes and blanched green beans for the rice salad.
Celebrating: The payment of the rent! Hurrah!
Forgetting: To go to the post office in time to post Nan’s present.
Pretending: I’m not in the middle of making dinner
Embracing: Wintery days
I hope you are having good times and watching Stranger Things!!
