Pip-Life Taking Stock Wear

Taking Stock in October

October 8, 2015

I haven’t done ‘Taking Stock’ for bloody ages! I’ve been too busy trying to keep all the balls in the air with moving and working and book-type-things. That’s reason enough to slow things down for a tiny while and document just where I’m up to, I think.

Here’s what’s happening in my neck of the woods…!

Making : Many, many cups of tea (Madura English Breakfast is my current fave!)
Cooking : Mushrooms and tomatoes for breakfast (with heaps of chilli sauce!)
Drinking : Well, I did drink a Margarita in Sydney the other night. At El Loco.
Reading: Just finished Rosie Waterland’s book – I thought it was great!
Wanting: The year to slow the heck down!
Looking: At the elliptical trainer I hired last week – I started using it today (30 minutes!)
Playing: The Postal Service, for old time’s sake.
Deciding: If I should get dressed. Whoops. It’s 2.55pm. The pleasures of working from home.
Wishing: I felt a bit less tired.
Enjoying: Hearing about baby Del settling into his family. (Del is my dear friend’s new baby!)
Waiting: To go on a lovely little holiday with Rin (my daughter!)
Liking: The fact that I got to see my sister yesterday when I was in Sydney – and my cute niece and nephew!
Wondering: If I should write another book…
Loving: Watching craptastic TV shows
Pondering: How good it can be to calmly go about your business, avoiding the drama.
Considering: The battle to belong – most people are waging it.
Buying: Lots of fresh wishing-for-Summer vegetables
Watching: The Bachelorette. Sam Frost is so adorable. What a doll-face.
Hoping: To feel a bit more settled soon. It’s always hard when you’re a bit too busy.
Marvelling: At how fun it was when Ari and I washed the car the other day… #sudsy
Cringing: At the way some people manipulate things for their own gain. Constantly.
Needing: A holiday. Phew.
Questioning: The amount of food in our fridge – i.e. pretty much NONE because I have been away!
Smelling: I can’t smell anything at the moment. Just… life.
Wearing: Track pants and a hoody. So glam.
Following: Dancing Through Sunday’s pretty Instagram
Noticing: That lots of great books are being released at the moment. This and this look like must-reads.
Knowing: One of the above books will make me cry.
Thinking: About going on a writing retreat. WISHFUL thinking!
Admiring: Kindness, compassion and restraint.
Sorting: Out my craft room/office. It’s STILL not unpacked. Gah!
Getting: The hang of our crazy steep new driveway
Bookmarking: This article about the fresh season of Homeland. Because I love Homeland!
Coveting: A new dress from Obus
Disliking: The shocking US gun crime stats I saw the other day
Opening: WAY too many tabs on my computer
Giggling: At this (thanks to my sister!) You will LOVE it too!
Feeling: Excited about… The Frankie Garage Sale! More on that soon…
Snacking: On celery dipped in salsa. YUM!
Helping: People with blogs and creative courage.
Hearing: So many birds at my new house!

You can make a list too, if you want to! I’d love to read it! Let me know if you do this too! M’kay.
