Hi peaches!
How are you? I am okay. I won’t talk about the cough and the other ills. It’s getting boring. Instead I am going to talk about the other stuff I’ve been up to over the last week or so. A little Taking Stock snapshot before the month kisses us goodbye…
Making : painted bangles and leaves and things
Cooking : toast because I love toast
Drinking : sweet, bracing, not too milky but not un-milky tea
Reading: my diary – there’s lots to do and it’s all in there
Wanting: a sabbatical… a nice long one!
Looking: at that gap under our front door where the breeze comes in
Playing: the Six Feet Under soundtrack in the car (perhaps too much!)
Deciding: on the projects we are going to make at the Big Hearted Business Creative Retreat
Wishing: this stupid cough would bugger off
Enjoying: crocheting a pop-py blanket
Waiting: for a few packages to arrive… lots of hoops, thread and books for starters
Liking: sitting next to the heater
Wondering: how the year has gone by so quickly
Loving: getting up early and watching Dexter on the couch with blankets up to my chin
Pondering: the cover ideas for my new book
Considering: when I might be well enough to start running again
Watching: Um. DEXTER!
Hoping: to travel light to the Gold Coast on Thursday
Marvelling: at how much I can do even if I do feel crap
Needing: to drink lots of juice (my friend Hailey’s suggestion!)
Smelling: not much. stuffy nose!
Wearing: this dress all the time and these shoes
Following: this blog
Noticing: how quickly my hair grows
Knowing: we’re having roast chicken for dinner
Thinking: cold and flu pills are demonic, but sometimes they really do work
Feeling: hopeful
Admiring: this
Buying: Japanese craft books like it’s 2007
Getting: excited to hang out in a hotel room for a couple of nights
Bookmarking: this post
Disliking: stupid coughing
Opening: all of the emails and FB messages… so many of them!
Giggling: at this
Snacking: on rice crackers. Do you like those? I do.
Coveting: this dress
Wishing: time would slow down a bit!
Helping: my students
Hearing: the 112 go past my house
A blank list for you to copy to your own blog or journal, in case you want to…

This saved me after two weeks of bad flu, stuffy nose and poorly sinuses: 1teaspoon of honey in lukewarm water, rinse the nose thoroughly, many times a day, add more honey IN the nostrils…Sounds funny but it worked for me…
Oh good tip! I will put this one in my ‘notes for when feeling poorly’! (It does sound a bit NOSY though!!)
Why do people have their blog layout like this? It is horrible and so difficult to navigate. We don’t want to click on posts to see them, scrolling is far simpler. The flickering pictures are also not fun. People seem to be changing over to this format and it is so unfriendly a format. I know I am not the only one.
I’m sorry that you feel that way Chloe. People had been complaining about the previous layout so I have updated it. And now people are complaining. I guess it’s super hard to please everyone! So sorry that you think it’s horrible. If you click on a post you can just click through all the posts (in their entirety from the bottom of that post.) And you can spot the posts you want on the front page easily and only read those. x
I love the list Pip – and the Pueblo dress is gorgeous. Get well soon!
Thanks sweets! Thanks for reading! x
Am also suffering a bit of whip lash at the all-too-speedy passing of the year. As to what I’m doing…thinking of what my list of making, loving, learning, noticing and knowing will look like. On the list is ‘Hoping: your cough goes and leaves you alone’. Thanks for the great suggestions!
Aw thanks! That makes me feel better already! x
Thanks for the taking stock prompt – it left me musing on lots of bits and pieces… Hope you shake that winter lurgy…
I too am wondering where this year has gone. It feels like only last week I was pregnant & finding out we were expecting a daughter but she’s four months old next week! Even my 11 year old thinks the year has flown by.
I really hope you are better soon & have fun at PB xx
oh dexter! missing him:)
Oh I hear you on the cough Pip… Am in th 4th week of this crappy thing and I annoy the sh*t out of myself with the constant coughing. I love how productive and creative you are even when under weather! That photo of the daffys is gorgeous, and I do hope your cough nicks off soon.
I hope yours is gone, petal! xx
I haven’t bought a Japanese craft book in yonkies – they are the best! Thanks for posting the list Pip, I’m going to join in now. xx
Aw cool Mel! Thanks for joining in! x
