Pip-Life Taking Stock

Taking Stock: April

April 8, 2016

I haven’t done Taking Stock for a while.

I think I have been busying myself hanging out and admiring the view and having quiet and fun times and just staying on top of work and fam. But enough of that. Well… just for a tick. It’s time to take my own pulse, doing and feeling and being-style!

(Maybe you want to do this too?! You can just write it longhand in a notebook – or cut and paste to Facebook, Instagram or a blog! Get cracking!)

Taking Stock: April 2016

Making : A scarf
Cooking : Lots of things, as usual!
Drinking : Copious amounts of tea
Reading: Mango and Mimosa (still!)
Wanting: One month fully paid holidays
Looking: At our pretty view
Playing: Catch-up
Deciding: Whether to go and buy more chunky yarn or not
Wishing: The yarn shop was closer
Enjoying: Kimchi
Waiting: For a good letter to arrive
Liking: Going to bed earlier than usual
Wondering: If this heavy lunged, heavy limbed feeling is something brewing
Loving: The Durrells! I cried I loved it so much! Tears of yay!
Pondering: Some ace projects I want to get moving on
Considering: How this year will pan out
Buying: The weekly shop (we are trying to shop less and shop better!)
Watching: Rosemary and Thyme. I love those ladies and I love the houses/gardens/mysteries/music
Hoping: Ari gets up soon… it’s 2.30pm!
Marvelling: At how quickly Autumn is suddenly making its presence felt
Cringing: At Trump
Needing: A soy chai with honey. A cake date with Michelle Mackintosh.
Questioning: Whether I might need to see a doctor about these (possibly) thyroid-y symptoms
Smelling: Coffee
Wearing: A t-shirt dress with a glittery tiger on it
Following: New (to me) people on Instagram : Hannah Bullivant, Emma Bradshaw, Emily Caruso
Noticing: A lot of birds in the garden. The other night we even had a Tawny Frogmouth.
Knowing: That the weekend will not be long enough for me!
Thinking: About joining the local library (not just the city one)
Admiring: A lot of things on the Notemaker site. I bought myself a sneaky present last night.
Sorting: Out the pantry on the weekend because… pantry moths!
Getting: Too obsessed with this popcorn. Yum!
Bookmarking: This and this. Spice me up!
Coveting: An exciting opportunity. New Gilmore Girls.
Disliking: Trump
Opening: Fresh embroidery floss
Giggling: At Melissa McCarthy on Jimmy Fallon. ALL OF THE GLITTER!
Feeling: Like a piece of cake
Snacking: On POPCORN! Duh!
Helping: My students learn things they want to learn
Hearing: The dog digging in the pebbly bit of the garden

You can make a list too, if you want to! I’d love to read it! Let me know if you do this too! M’kay.

    Hey Pip,

I love reading Veggie Mama’s taking stock posts. She pointed me to your blog. This month I tried one for myself 🙂

    Hope to do many more.

    Thanks for the inspiration.

Love these taking stock posts. It reminds me to do mine :-). And how good was that Melissa McCarthy Lip Sync? OMG I fell about laughing (which wasn’t that wise since I’ve just had a hysterectomy, but so worth it, HA!)

Hey Pip 🙂 I did one too… I’m now wondering whether I should watch The Durrells (if it’s still there for me to watch), and when Ari got up! All the best x

I too would like to know your secret for accessing The Durrells. I have watched the movie “My Family and Other Animals” but would love to watch this series. Tried signing up for ITV but no success. Reannon, the cotton yarn from Bendigo Woollen Mills is lovely and soft. Highly recommended.

I love Emma Bradshaw – we’ve been blog buddies for a while – and our sons are born on the same day! I’m glad you’ve found her. Also Thanks for showing me that awesome Melissa and Jimmy Fallon clip. Oh wow!! x

Hey Pip! We also saw a Tawny Frogmouth in our St Kilda street last week, I was so excited/surprised. Made even more special by the fact that a rough-looking dude on his way to the Sacred Heart Mission stopped and looked up at it with us. ‘Yep, it’s an owl alright,’ he said, then went on his way. It was a nice inner city moment.
You must join your local library! I have saved about a million dollars* lately borrowing books instead of buying them. Also, I did April Taking Stock earlier this week if you want to check it out. Seeya! Enjoy this early autumn time!

How did you get to watch The Durrells in Australia? Is there a secret website I need to know about? Many thanks and great postx

I love doing the Taking Stock activity, and I was wondering when you were going to post your next one. This month my husband and I are both doing it, then we’ll open a bottle of red and talk through our lists for a TV-free date night. Really nice to reflect together <3

I love Rosemary & Thyme! Always love your taking stock posts, they give me so many cool things to check out! 🙂

What yarn are you using Pip? Feel like I’ve finally hit my strides in crocheting & while I think I still do it wrong & I am enjoying it like never before! Im thinking of ordering cotton yarn from Bendigo Woollen Mills? Have you ever used it? Also, I’ve been rewatching GG & marvelling at all the things is forgotten. It’s almost like watching it for the first time without all the ” will Rory & Jess get together?” “Will Lorelie & Luke ever be a couple?” It’s actually much more enjoyable I think.

Have a great weekend. I hope your heavy limb feeling isn’t anything serious & you are feeling peachy soon x
