Hello

:: Softies For Mirabel :: 10 Cute Softies To Sew

October 6, 2011

Hello!

Are you joining Softies for Mirabel this year?! I AM!  It thought it would be a good idea to post some links to cute soft toy How-Tos today.  And maybe if you know of any great links, you can post those in the comments for us all to see?  That would be grand!  Keep in mind these toys are being made to give directly to children in need.  They are not for sale, so it is super fine to use someone else’s pattern!

:: Inchworm! (above!)

If you don’t have time to make a softie to support the kids of The Mirabel Foundation, then perhaps you could pop over here and donate… or you could buy a tea towel even?  EVERYONE needs tea towels and the Mirabel ones are illustrated by Emma Magenta!

Do you have any good softie ideas to share?

xx Pip

    Hi Pip, is it time to start sending our toys yet? I noticed in a previous post from Sept. it said not to send yet and that you'd be announcing the address soon. I guess that means it's a different address than previous years?

    I'm in Canada and I've got some toys to send, but I will need to get them in the mail soon in order for you to receive them by December. The cost difference between the slow (cheaper) and speedy (expensive) shipping rate here is pretty significant and for financial reasons I'd really prefer to send my softies on the slower trip. Thanks!

    Hi there, I have a wonderful link for panelled softies in great colours that are so easy to make, and look gorgeous. They are created by the wonderful Saffron Craig, and you can buy them online with 25% at the moment.

    I've started on this gorgeous little fox- I am making him in this divine wool alpaca silk mix- he will be soft and cuddly!

    One arm down, so cool to watch him coming together.
    I'm having a fox phase at the moment, so I thought if I finish farmer in time, I would make the felt fox out of Mollie Makes – she is so cute. This lady made one, and she looks so cute!

    Oh I really need to get started and make some softies! On my blog I currently have one softie tutorial, for a simple felt bunny. I made one for my baby niece and she loves it.

    Hello Pip! Thanks for sharing those adorable patterns. I have been looking on Etsy for some printed softies exemples because that's what I would really like to do for The Mirabel Foundation and I found this little one that I think you might like to check out: http://www.etsy.com/listing/73151323/orange-cat-doll-ari on miahansen shop. Enjoy!

    You could make it without the deco's just to be a bit easier. Cheers

    Hello! Those patterns are very good – I liked the alpaca the best! ^_^

    I have two patterns to share, an owl (from me) and a bunny (from someone else).
