Say Hello To The Fanny Blanket

August 13, 2018

This blanket has a lot of fans stitched into it right? That means it’s called The Fanny Blanket. I don’t want to hear another thing about the name because I just chose the most logical one – based on the featured motif and honestly what’s the big deal, even? #snort

Anyhoo. I am making it to fit over my bed, and I am kind of halfway there. When it’s done it’s going to be super pretty, but for now it’s quite pretty. It just needs to grow up a bit and look don’t we all?

If you would like me to put together a how-to for this stitch, please leave me a comment. And if you have something else to say, please leave me a comment. But not a mean one. I don’t have time for mean ones. Nope.

Mucho love to you.

xx your pal, Pip

Tell me do you do your chain row on a larger hook? I have so much trouble getting mine to be a straight flat edge, they all want to become rainbows.

Thank you for including crochet in your posts. I just picked up my hook after nearly 2 years of a difficult period of life and, oh, it feels good to watch something grow. Yours is so pretty and happy-looking. Each time you walk into the room and see it on your bed, I am certain you will get a wave of joy flow over you! Nice work!

I sniggered at the name because 1. I am childish and 2. I have not said the word fanny since I was a kid! Regardless of my childish ways, the blanket is AHHHHHmazing! I wish I could say I’ve been crocheting but alas I have not. It seems I can only do one hobby at a time, two if I ignore other stuff like Tafe/my family/the housework. Right now cooking & reading are what I’m filling my time with. BUT. I did buy some lovely dishcloth yard from Jodie (@jellywares_shop) & her lovely pattern so maybe I should make time.

Hi Pip. So many things to write but I’ll keep it brief. Number one, I’ve crocheted blankets because of you! Number two, not only do I recommend your book ‘Craft for the Soul’ to my patients, you’ll be delighted to know that my patients are now forwarding it to their friends and family. Number three, I would LOVE a copy of this blanket. Thank you for doing what you do xo
