Life’s Too Short To Read Grabby Cheap Stuff Online

Really. It totally is, right? You know the stuff I mean. It’s written purely to pique your interest, to raise your brow, to make you wonder if that can be true or if that really will inspire you or if the article really does feature the cleverest cat or the prettiest lounge room or the most embarrassing Awards Night fail EVER.

I know. It can be fun to read that stuff, but it’s kind of like eating prawn crackers. They are fun to eat and okay now and then. They crunch and fizz on your tongue. Sometimes they stick. Then you feel oily and your stomach feels empty and your tongue feels a bit weird and you smell a bit funny too. Grabby, cheap online stuff is like that. Little bites of fishy nothing. They are probably not enriching your life in any way. Imagine if you spent that time reading something good! (I am possibly talking to myself here, too! Maybe you’ve got this totally sorted!)

Here is some good stuff to read that does not resemble prawn crackers.
It’s more like guacamole, nourishing and complex and a bit spicy at times…

Leaning Out : why life’s not all about doing what Sheryl Sandberg says.
This piece about kids and s*x education is amazingly logical (I wrote it like that so Google doesn’t lead unsavoury types here!)
Heaps of things here
This. Okay it’s a prawny one, but it’s also nature-y and cute!
A lot of things here. Tres useful w some eye candy thrown in and I have a soft spot for that magazine.
Constructive criticism vs destructive criticism… Ponder this. Via this guy.
Kirst told me to read this. I loved it. Amazing dude. (Quite an old piece, but a great one)
This is a crazy story. How can it be true? It is, though. (Mildly prawn crackery)
Barbara Walters: the original Peggy Olson : Looking back on the formidable BW.
I’m reading this book and this one and I am liking them both a lot.
The next stolen generation.
Mexican drug cartels lose their limes (this is a bit grabby but very guacamole and interesting) Who knew about the limes?!
I think this is quite cool! If you’re going to use a takeaway cup this is a learned way to do it!

Please share any guacamole you’ve read lately in the comments. (Get off the prawn crackers!)
