Hello!

I really need to go and have my dinner and run a hot bath, but first I wanted to pop in and show you this amazingly beautiful work by Japanese embroidery artist Kimika Hara.

Kimika is from Kyoto and embroiders her work free-hand using lots of colourful floss, fabric and beads… and as you can see it’s beyond beautiful.

Some people know just how to use thread like an amazing, magical paintbrush and Kimika is one of those kinds of people.

I found an old interview with Kimika at Crafty Mag, in case you would like to read a bit more. Suffice to say she’s inspired by colour, cute things and nature. Plus a total genius.

You can see more on Flickr or on Facebook… and of course follow along on Instagram too!

PS: I started working with my new job gang today and it’s going really great!
PPS: I made chickpea stew!
PPPS: I am going to make a cake tomorrow!
PPPPS: I am really hungry because the weather is so gloomy!

How cute and beautiful embroidery. Love the colors and use of yarn, beads and fabric together.
