I’ve been spending a lot of time on Etsy, looking at cute cards and letter writing things. It’s lovely to make you own, of course, but it’s also good to support indie makers who are designing incredibly cute things.
Even if you don’t have anyone in mind to write a letter to, you can start a little stationery stash and before you know it you will be really desperate to write to someone because your stash will runneth over. And then you will. And then they might write back. And lo and behold you have a good thing going on. Perf.
As you know (or might not know, actually) I am addicted to blankets. I make a lot myself of course, but I also spend a ridiculous amount of time trawling Etsy looking for the perfect afghan.
Maybe I want to buy it. Maybe I want to marvel at it. Maybe I want to be inspired by its colour scheme. That’s a lot of maybes, but the fact remains that Etsy is a kind of holy place for blankets and if you are woolly or snuggly obsessed like me you should get over there and join the cosy club.
A little known thing about me is that I grew up on fondue. Fondue was the special exotic dinner at our house. Sometimes we’d have a cheese one and sometimes we’d have a very primal meat one (where you dunk cubes of meat into boiling fat until they are browned on the outside and tender within). The cheese one had bits of apple and sausage alongside it, ready to dunk into its bubbling bounty. The meat one had special dishes of sauce that you’d whirl your spiked (cooked) meat through before you gobbled it up.
It was very important not to burn your mouth on the fondue fork. No one wants the scorched shadow of a fondue fork imprinted on their lip, now do they? No. Uh-uh.
Hope you are well on this fine day, petals!
