Listen/Watch/Read Pip-Life When Life Is Not Peachy

Guess what my brand new book is called?!

September 10, 2019

Guess what? My new book is done! I can’t quite believe it, but my work on it is totally finished as off about 15 minutes ago.

It’s got a few more tiny tweaks to be done (by brilliant Murdoch Books editor Justin Wolfers) and then it goes back to the designer aka Bronte the cat’s mum aka clever and creative Michelle Mackintosh for the final design flourishes and then off it goes to get ready for printing.

But my work? My work is complete. Yay! Phew. I did it!!!

Do you know what my book is about? Lemme tell you. It’s about getting through challenging times, times when you are not quite sure how to get out of bed, let alone get on with your life.

I wrote it when I was going through my own extended tough time – battling with poor mental and physical health, the end of a long relationship, deaths in my family, lots of other hard things – in the hopes that it might help someone else who was feeling as crappy as I was, some day.

This book is a guide to working out how to look after yourself a little better when you’ve been sidelined by experiences such as loss, grief, a mental or physical health crisis, and/or a long-term life challenge.

And guess what my book is called?! My book is called …

When Life Is Not Peachy!!

Said book is not out until April next year, but it really, truly is on the way now, which makes me feel super chuffed. Plus? April will come quickly because time bloody zips by, doesn’t it?

It’s popping up on bookish sites already, so I thought I should quickly tell interested types what it is called.

I will show you the cover as soon as the final snazzy bits have been popped on it, in case you fancy seeing that.

In the mean time … thank you so much to the people who helped me, encouraged me or just willed me on quietly from afar. It means so much and this book would not have been hatched without all that kindness.

Love to you, peaches.

xx pip

PS: huge huge gigantic thank you to Jane, Katri and Viv!! And to the proofreader. And the indexer too! And also to Jeanne and Christina and Steve and Kerry!

PPS: I forgot to start dinner because I was finishing my book and checking the book cover (check!) and writing this excited blog post … and now Survivor is on and I want to see what happens with Pia and Luke. In the ad breaks I’m going to make a quick avocado, cucumber, tomato, feta and red onion salad … and some fried cauliflower with tahini and lemon from Falafel For Breakfast. It’s just me for dinner. Pray for me to not get spat on by hot oil. Okay, shutting up now.

PPPS: I’m making this ..!

    Dear Pip,
I have just finished reading your previous book “Craft for the Soul” and found it super helpful during tricky times. Kind of like having a sensible and lovely friend pointing out all sorts of ways to nourish your life. I look forward to your new book!
    Many thanks Shannon

Hi Pip! I NEED your new book my marriage ended in March under the most dramatic of circumstances… it only officially ended in March it was dying for about two years. We were together for 20 years, married for 18 the amount of awful things that happened in those two years is unbelievable (it definitely makes me think differently about the laws of attraction) I am getting out of bed and trying to get by best I can (even have a nice new fella) but I still have moments were I struggle to understand what happened and why…
I will definitely be getting your book xxx

Oh Pip I can’t wait to get my hands on this.
I know it will be delightful and just the uplifting encouraging, gentle support that I need.
Well done to you, I’m sure writing a book is so much harder than I realise and to do this while going through your own tough stuff is such an act of generosity. I am thankful for that.
    Cheers Kate.
    PS when can I preorder
