Pin Your Hopes On These!

Bonbi Forest Pins

Look. Some people call these pins and others call them flair and still others call them brooches but when I was a wee bairn, these were called BADGES. The problem with badges is that some people call PATCHES badges, so the risk of confusion abounds.

Like, if I say “I got a new badge”, depending on where you are in the world and who brought you up, you might think I am referring to:

a/ Something with a pin on the back that you can attach to your blouse, making you feel a bit fancier (badge!)
b/ You might conjure up thoughts of polishing raindrops from a car, the vehicle’s model name fashioned from metal (badge!) to let everyone know what sort it is. OR …
c/ You might think of a woven fabric shape with “Gold Coast, QLD” sewn onto it in extremely brightly coloured thread and a boomerang thrown in for good measure (badge!)

There are similar issues with “pins” and “patches”, to be honest.

Whatever you like to call them, these tiny wearable works of brilliance are gorgeous – and you might like to snap a few up for your besties or siblings or even for yourself.

Yes definitely badges! 🙂 But the badges I had growing up weren’t this cute or whimsical. Same Stories Untold would be my favourite.

Badge! I’m a badge girl! And I’ll take the Stories Untold, thanks. Or basically any bookish badge. Badge!
