I spotted these tea cosy patterns on Etsy and I thought you might like them too!
Good morning, peaches! It’s a soggy day in Melbourne, perfect for a giant cup of coffee in bed and a bit of a cheer-filled blog.
I scrolled through an article on women who wear special things for good luck this morning, and it got me wondering about lucky things. I know that people might wear lucky undies when they have to tackle an important event … or they might have a lucky ritual they do? But neither of those things is me.
Hello! It’s time for Feeling A Bit Sh*t again, just in case you have been feeling a bit sh*t and need some reminders that there are good and interesting and sweet things going on … and the world truly is not all crap events, dumpster fires and people relentlessly drawing attention to themselves on Twitter.
I was reading through my regular blog faves this morning and found a post on Brown Paper Bag about Lorien Stern and the sharks she makes. Also included in that very excellent post were these GHOST vases. Honestly, I could not love them more.
If you’ve ever met a ball of yarn, you will know how knotty/naughty they can be. Luckily some genius invented yarn bowls and then some other geniuses took them from utilitarian product to delightful pal, applying a whopping dose of cleverness, good humour and some crafty skills.
How has your week been, peaches? Mine has been intense! If you’re in need of some good and ineresting things to help balance the tough stuff out, I have ideas!
Just a speedy pop in to talk about these adorable earrings! Because who doesn’t need a tiny David Bowie fan of a cat in their ears, I ask you?!
You may or may not know that in the wake of the horrendous Grenfell Tower fire, a community kitchen – called Hubb Community Kitchen – played an important role in supporting those who’d been caught up in the should-never-have-happened horrific tragedy.

Look. Let’s blinking face it. Christmas and a New Year are on the way and gifts need to be sorted. My thinking is why not spend your weekends making all your friends and family lovely tea cosies in front of Killing Eve – stopping for the odd slice of Madeira Cake* – instead of hitting the shops?!
I have started approximately 122 blog posts over the last two weeks, but then irresponsibly let them flounder unfinished. It’s quite obvious that I am a monster. And also that I have been overthinking it.
What better thing to do on a sunny afternoon than stay inside with my computer and write a list?
Yup. I finished The Fanny Blanket. If you follow me on social media, you may already know this, because GOSH I have been showing off all over the shop!
I spotted these cute dresses on Pinterest and thought – “I bet everyone will want a dress with caterpillars on it!” I know I do. Then I saw the tangerines …
If you – like moi – navigate anxiety and/or depression on the reg, you probably have your own toolkit of strategies that help you step back from the spiral/black hole and grasp onto something solid.
Oh my gawsh I can’t tell you how much I love these brilliant dresses and scarves from the very irreverent and joyful Sydney label, Frida Las Vegas (aka Stavroula Adameitis.)
I listened to The Teacher’s Pet podcast last week in a marathon after work binge-listening session, and it of course raised many more questions and made me very sad for Lyn Dawson and her family and friends. It’s a really tough listen, isn’t it?
