a table in the orchard favourite boots homeland pad thai

one : A Table In The Orchard by Michelle Crawford, tea and beads (and my book!)
two : My favourite boots. Bought from Vintage Sole on my street
three : My house looking tidier than usual (and Homeland)
four : Pad Thai

Geesh. I have had such a big week. My eyes are popping out and I must admit I had a tiny meltdown this morning, feeling the weight of it all. It’s okay though. I am fine now. Sometimes you just need to release that valve and things make more sense. A hot bath with lavender oil can help too.

One
My friend’s new book is out and it’s beautiful. I am going to give a copy away this week, so keep checking in. It features beautiful photography, delicious recipes and evocative anecdotes of chilly, Tassie life. So good. Like I said, I will tell you more very soon!

Two
I love these boots. I wore them for two photo shoots on Friday (as well as two favourite dresses I bought from Obus last year). It’s funny that we’re encouraged to get new clothes all the time. I like buying favourite things and wearing those a lot instead. Fave frocks beat fresh frocks, in my books!

Three
Sunday Life Magazine came to visit on Friday. They sent a great photographer called Bonnie who put up with my ‘I hate having my photo taken’ nonsense admirably. This is my house post-tidy up. I needed to watch Homeland to distract myself from all the looking at the camera and remembering to open my eyes and keep my chin up. It’s a hard knock life. (Thanks Bonnie!)

I spent the morning finishing off my piece for Sunday Life. So lucky that they wanted me to write something for them. I am not sure of the publication date, but I will keep you posted (if you are interested!)

Four
We are all obsessed with Pad Thai at our house. Cam has been making this recipe and we’ve been eating it for dinner (and any leftovers for lunch). Actually, there aren’t normally leftovers but Cam made a huge amount the other night and only he and I were home to eat it. That meant there were leftovers. I had them for lunch today. So good.

I was a bit tired after going to The Corner last night for the Something For John show and Pad Thai was a great remedy. Last night was ace fun and featured Darren Middleton, Clare Bowditch, Adalita, Tim Rogers, Something For Kate and GUY PEARCE. Swoon. Also there were others. It was nice to catch up with some girls from our Bali Creative Retreat and it was not nice to realise that my feet were not used to going to gigs anymore. It was more than nice to see people support such a beautiful family. People can be great, can’t they? (There is a second show tonight with other special guests, if you want to go! Word is that Missy Higgins will play!)

How did your week go? What were the best bits? Do you like Pad Thai? Do you want to join in One + Four = Life? Add your link below!

Thanks for reading my blog. Thanks for reading about my week!

Ohhh, I am going to snag that Pad Thai recipe, strangely it is one of my favorite foods, but I never make it. That may change! Love those beads, did you paint them yourself or buy them from somewhere fabulous?

Pad Thai is the best. We’ve never made it at home until recently and it’s so DELICOUS! I did make the beads! Yes! Well… I painted the beads, at least! x

Beautiful photos (as always)….sorry you’ve been feeling ‘bllleeeuuurgh’ but I hope you’re feeling better now…..had a million things to say but the only one that’s screaming out from my mind at the moment is ‘Guy Pearce’!!!!! I’m a great admirer of his – his talents are seemingly endless and he’s such an inspiration. *Love* Homeland, too….am waiting on the second series arriving so I can binge watch….it’s one of those series (like Gilmore and Downton) that it’s physically not possible to watch just one episode of…..have a great week, Pip…..loving your 1+4 link-up and all the lovely ladies who join in…..thank you for having the idea (yet another of your *great* ideas!)

Such beautiful photos Pip. I love that a lavender oil bath and Homeland makes you feel more in order. Funny how comforting a good TV show can be. And I also love One + Four = Life. Best idea ever! x
