Look. I made another one of these recordings and I don’t even know what I’m doing here …

For one, it’s not really a PROPER podcast and for two, the formerly named PIPCAST is really lame. Anyhow, I shall call it “the Recording” for now. Listen below – and scroll down for all the things mentioned in this chat.

Direct link to recording here.

‘Show Notes’

How to feed teenagers and not cause an international incident
Rice cooker, delicious curries and casseroles – maybe with teriyaki chicken?, rice salad, after school risotto, wings of goodness, baked potatoes, bread with everything, giant pots of soup (although my boys hate soup – go figure!)

Edwyn Collins
Falling and Laughing – The Restoration of Edwyn Collins by Grace Maxwell
The Possibilities Are Endless – documentary about Edwyn Collins
Home Again – BBC 4 documentary about Edwyn Collins

The Fish Ladder by Katherine Norbury

Grantchester – booze, bikes, crime, God and nice lipstick.

Architectural Digest
The article about Nicky Hilton
An interesting piece about photographer Horst and writer Valentine Lawford

The fancy wallpaper

How Demi Moore ended up on the cover of Vanity Fair, pregnant and in the nuddy

My new favourite Penco Hightide biro – and the baseball bat one.

I think that was everything, but tell me if I forgot things!

Also – what shall I name my ‘recording’?!

x Pip

PS: Thanks for listening!

PPS: Someone said that other content auto-plays after my recording. I don’t choose what plays afterwards, so please hit STOP once you’ve finished listening to my bit, if you don’t want to hear other random things.

I actually totally love the name Pipcast! Yes I do. I’m listening to episode three right now.

Sorry you’ve been sick Pip, I hope you’re fighting fit by now.

fish ladder! now I want to read that as well.
talking of pregnant pictures, there was a pregnant neneh cherry on ‘Top of the Pops’ many, many moons ago – caused quite a gasp in suburban households.

Podcast name suggestion – “Whatever This Is”. It’s how you (maybe unknowingly?) introduced your latest recording, Welcome to whatever this is. A slight “Here’s The Thing” about the name, whimsical, doesn’t pigeonhole you into talking about anything in particular. Just an idea! Loving your recordings Pip, keep them coming!

Thank you Pip for answering my question with such delicious suggestions! Turns out Beep is one of those teenagers who hardly eats anything ( I suspect sneakily eating Subway) but excellent tips for feeding the rest of the family.

    Much love

just lovely, thanks .. a huge, a huge fan of orange juice and edwyn back in the day. i watched the bbc doc just now and then stumbled on a video of him performing live w/his son william. poor sound quality but who cares, it’s a great song and his son is adorable dancing and singing next to his dad. my son is 15 and just learning guitar with the help of his dad. it was just fun to see. i’m going to play this pip-cast for my 11 yr old daughter, a big cook and baker. she just learned to make risotto (better than me) and i know she’ll be interested in the bit on meals. love your voice. not to be weird, it’s just very soothing and that counts for a lot these days. xo u.

Oh my goodness, I have watched Marriage at first sight, our Finnish version also the Australian one that was on our national tv. It is such a terrible concept, but I still watch it! Ack! Also found hayu. which streams 150 (!) reality shows 😀 I am so bad. Haven’t watched any, coz I’ve been busy, but the weekend is coming… 30 day free test period..
Thank’s for podcasting Pip, you have such a nice voice and always something nice to say. Feel better soon!
