Good Stuff I'm Happy For Nice Life Reminders

I’m happy for …

October 7, 2022
Georgia O'Keeffe by Stieglitz

Lots of interesting types are doing good things and I thought it would be an excellent idea to BE HAPPY FOR THEM and talk about their cleverness and progress and my bare-faced admiration and companionable feelings.

I’m happy for …

Hetty who has a brand new book out called Tenderheart. It looks amazing (like her others!) and I have reserved it at the library and can NOT wait for it to touch down!

Rhonda who has totally nailed auditing her electricity usage and REDUCED her power bill. Gasp! (That’s not easy to do. Ours is a total runaway train.)

Favel who is on a writer’s residency in NORWAY! How brilliant is that?!

Edie because she got a new frying pan!

This koala who was rescued after getting stuck on a dam wall and is now on the mend.

Jo who (possibly) won the war against the hungry Currawongs.

Tansy who has birthed a bonkers-ace show for the Melbourne Fringe Festival.

Michelle who FINALLY got to return to her beloved Japan with her darling Steve after having to stay away for so long. Michelle and Steve are Japanophiles and have written a bunch of books to make travelling there EVEN nicer. 🙂

Rosamunde Pilcher just for being such a lovely writer!!! (Vale!)

All these cats who are living their best peek-a-boo lives.

Myf who has just released a memoir – Time of My Life – and has a new TV show about DANCING!

Annette … who started a new job!

Anna whose just-released memoir about anxiety and mental health – A Kind of Magic – is doing so so SO very well!

ME for managing to write my Georgia O’Keeffe (top, looking not that happy, I admit) essay this week and hand it in on time. And for making some really delicious noodles for dinner. And for going to the chemist even though it was pouring with rain.

Who are you happy for, pals?

Maybe it’s your cat? Maybe it’s your friend? Or someone high profile you admire? Or maybe IT IS YOU! Tell me! Go on!

x Pip

I’m happy for a week in the city supporting my children to broaden their horizons and indulge their love of performing arts, and also very happy to be heading north to home and the bush!

I love how you celebrate others. It makes me feel like I just had a cup of cocoa and am wrapped in a duvet and I am not, but I feel like I am! I get the same feeling in book shops and libraries.
How perfectly gorgeous you are and so dear to so many of us.
Do you even know that you are the reason I am reasonably good at cooking things? Do you?
I mean I used to be the most terrible cook. Like really. Ask my children. One of Stefs boyfriends once said ‘ my mum is a chef’ Stef replied with ‘Mine isn’t. Don’t eat anything she cooks!’
But you see with your good natured and kind encouragement I became a magnificent spice girl!
Plus you once told me what buttermilk was and I had no idea!!!!
So the person I am happy for and celebrate today is you! So many years of giving and comfort and lols and complete bloody loveliness mainly for free!!!!
    I appreciate you.
    You are so loved.

I can’t even believe that! You are such a marvellous cook! I think it’s all about just having a go and wanting to make good things for the fam, don’t you? I am so glad you followed that path (like me!) too! x
