Giveaway: Let’s Party by Martine Lleonart

July 4, 2017
Lets Party by Martine Lleonart

Did you spend many a rainy (or non-rainy) day poring over a certain ubiquitous birthday party themed book as a child? I know that I did and if you didn’t you might need a cuddle and a chat with a therapist, because it really is a rite of passage!

Nowadays, there is not just ONE party cake bible, as there was when we were kids. There are quite a few places you can get your party inspiration on – and I have one of them right here on this actual blog today.

And oh my! Some people have worked very, very hard on this very, very detailed book. There are a whole heap of photographic elements as well as chatter, how-tos and recipes. It has obviously been a labour of many, many, many weeks/months/years? of love by the team behind its pretty pages.

Perhaps… you might want to win a copy?!

Jam-packed to the brim with cakes and party activities and themes and other celebratory things, you’d have to be a corpse to not get excited about this book and probably want to start planning a get-together right this very minute.

Not only is Let’s Party very excellent and dotted with cheery things, it caters for kids with all kinds of interests, and different age brackets too. That means that everyone from kinder tots to tweens will find the idea of flipping through the pages and choosing their dream party TOTALLY irresistible.

Grown-ups will like it a lot too.

I need this book for its divine styling with nary a cartoon character in sight (thank goodness!), but also because it may help me finally come to terms with the fact that my mum is NEVER going to make me the train cake for my birthday. I’m 42, it’s just not gonna happen.

One of my oldest and dearest friend has a younger sister almost 15 years our junior, we had a week long sleepover at my house while her mum had some time to recover after bub.. now that we are all grown up we have had a fun tradition of helping to plan and run Sacha’s birthday parties! We all really like crafty parties and special food, and would enjoy a cosy afternoon finding new ideas in this book! Thanks for featuring it xxx

oh aren’t you so generous and kind! Thank you Pip! I have two very beautiful but very different little girls, I could see us browsing through this book, snuggled under a blanket, drinking hot chocolates and planning fabulous Farm Princess Octopus Parties!

I would love this book for my very-nearly-ten-year-old who is always bring home party idea, decorating and craft books from the school library. I love that, as much as she loves looking through all the ideas in the books, she loves even more to create her own ideas. It’s like looking at beautiful ideas helps her create her own beautiful ideas. Another beautiful ideas book would be a wonderful thing!

Oh wow! I have so many memories of spending what seemed like hours in the lead up to my childhood birthdays picking a cake from the book you refer to. Now the mother of three with the eldest turning four at the end of July, I grimace as I enter eldest child’s cake inspiration into Pinterest and see what transcends the screen (and usually my cake decorating ability. A tangible book that I can study might alleviate some of the anxiety I feel around party cake making!!! Plus it looks like a simply lovely book. Thank you Pip!! ?

Would love the opportunity to win this delicious book full of ideas and inspiration and would look eclectic on the coffee table. Thank you.

OTT Party Planning is just one of my less obscure hobbies …. I feel like this book might be made for me!!

  • Reply Narelle Dunn July 7, 2017 at 6:36 PM

I really do need this book to inspire my daughter and save me from throwing another Frozen-themed party this year. Anna is cool and all but I think in this case, third time is NOT the charm.

  • Reply Pips July 6, 2017 at 5:40 PM

I definitely need some ideas for an upcoming double 20 year olds party. Desperate not to do the Timezone thing and wanting to make the event special and amazing.

  • Reply Maria O'Sullivan July 5, 2017 at 9:36 PM

I am just entering party world with a 1 year old and nearly 3 year old.
The one who’s 3 in August has high expectations… he’s mentioned super heroes, diggers and mice as party suggestions so far.. eek! Help!

I’ve become a mum for the first time recently and now have a whole new world to learn! I can’t wait to give my little daughter fantastic birthday parties, and then for her to lose herself in a world of books – especially spending hours poring over the pictures and ideas from such a gorgeous birthday book. Like Pip, I remember gazing for hours at foodie and creative picture books.

My two eldest daughters are adults now but I still have 1 daughter that would love looking through that book and picking out a party, and then I have designs on keeping it in my library for the day when I have grandkids and they can say ‘I need to look at {mama’s} party book’ and lending it out to my daughters to make wonderful memories for their children and my grandchildren.

  • Reply Janelle July 5, 2017 at 8:02 AM

Oooh think it has how to make a stingray cake and stingray costume. That’s why I need to win this book.. My 3 year old is set on these for her birthday. All I can imagine is the little kid in love actually dressed as an octopus.

I got my tattered old copy of that ol’ fave out just last week and had a look through and commented to hubby that they should do an update. I have 3 daughters under 5 and it is currently winter and very cold so anything that would help entertain them is a lifesaver. I also have a lot of kids parties ahead so anything to help ease that would be amazing 🙂

  • Reply Claire July 5, 2017 at 5:03 AM

Oh gosh yes I did read that cake book and another beloved kids cook book over and over and over! ?? I would love to win the new and improved book! It looks gorgeous! Birthday season is coming up at our place, as well as a new bub due right amongst it all.
    Thanks Pip! ??

With a big backyard just screaming out for home parties…my girls and i would truly love this book. I am sure it will be well loved and poured over for many years….not to mention well thumbed and bookmarked.

  • Reply Nat Power July 4, 2017 at 10:00 PM

The old one is haggard and the opposite of unique. Time to update my themed parties for the next generation. Can’t wait to see it in print.

  • Reply Alison July 4, 2017 at 9:51 PM

    I love books.

  • Reply Alison Norman July 4, 2017 at 8:24 PM

Oooohhhh… how delicious this book looks!
With a 6 year old and a 4 year old, this is exactly what I need in my house to help celebrate creatively and in superb style. I also am a school teacher, so, I’d be utterly thrilled to bits to receive a copy of this glorious book! Fingers, toes and the lot are crossed tightly for good luck!

  • Reply Sarah July 4, 2017 at 8:03 PM

oooh I would love this book, the struggle for birthday party inspo is real! Especially inspo that doesn’t include matching your ombre cake pops to your plastic plates :-P. Got two small people in my house with birthdays coming up who are so desperate for parties! xx

  • Reply Nicole July 4, 2017 at 7:42 PM

Gosh, I would like to win ‘Let’s Party’ because I have three kids born within three weeks of each other, with four years between the eldest and youngest. Coming up with cake ideas and making them in a short space of time is slightly daunting. Our eldest is four so we have a lot of birthday cakes in our future.

  • Reply Emily July 4, 2017 at 7:42 PM

Oh my goodness! Yes, I do remember every year our household ritual of studying each cake in detail, narrowing in on the chosen cake to represent our birthday for that year. The decision was HUGE and it was very well considered. I thank my mum greatly for that memory. It’s something I hope my two girls can experience too. Unfortunately so far my cakes for them (1st year old and 3 year old now) I’ve gotten someone else to cook them. Hell, I didn’t realise how stressful organising and pulling off kids birthdays are! This book looks like it can help! Fingers crossed I can win a copy! X

  • Reply Rochelle July 4, 2017 at 5:36 PM

This book looks so cute! It would definitely help with planning parties for our whole family!

  • Reply Erin Bond July 4, 2017 at 5:23 PM

This would make an amazing gift for my sister in law who has just had her second baby! Parties can be so hard to plan with little ones, and this book would make the task all the easier to plan Miss 3’s next party! Thanks!

  • Reply Meg July 4, 2017 at 4:41 PM

I love birthdays: my birthday, other people’s birthdays! I’m also a crack baker – I’m the “go-to” for birthday cakes. My cake faves still harken back to the 80s Women’s Weekly classic kids’ cake book. This tome looks like a pretty fab modern take in a retro classic. Totally my jam!

  • Reply Annabel knight July 4, 2017 at 2:59 PM

Oh I love this Pip! It reminds me of when I was a kiddie myself. I’d love to win this so I could use it for all birthday parties our little guy Clancy has in the coming years. His first will be in March! Such a beautiful book. Thank you for sharing!

  • Reply Donna Quirke July 4, 2017 at 2:12 PM

My sister is having her third baby and I’d like to win this for her so we can plan lots of stylish and fun parties for all my amazinf family ?

  • Reply Belinda Suzette July 4, 2017 at 2:09 PM

Because I have finally found someone who likes to party the kind of party I like to party and his name is Charlie and he is almost 4. xx

  • Reply Melissa Backshall July 4, 2017 at 1:59 PM

We have a small person living in our house who turns two in September. I’d love to make her a lovely cake and homemade decorations to celebrate!

  • Reply Elise July 4, 2017 at 12:42 PM

Ooh with 2 little girls aged 1 & 3 I know I have a lot of parties ahead of me. And my cake decorating skills are lacking.
Also my poor 3 yo is Birthday obsessed, her birthday is New Year’s Day and she missed out on the customary celebrations at kinder which she is quietly devastated about (I’m now that parent and have asked kinder to celebrate it in December)

  • Reply Melissa Trudinger July 4, 2017 at 12:29 PM

I’ve got three aged 7, 10 and 12 and we’re ALWAYS up for a good browse through the party books. After all, birthday party planning should always start 51 weeks before the big day!

  • Reply Kathryn July 4, 2017 at 11:26 AM

I have TWO kids birthday parties coming up in the next 2 months, and Mr almost 3 has fallen hard for all of the fun festivities that go along with parties (apple didn’t fall far from the tree! ?) I’m trying to get back to reading and referring to physical books more around my kids, so they don’t always see me on a screen. We would have so much fun checking this out and dreaming together ??

  • Reply Pip lewis July 4, 2017 at 11:24 AM

Brings back so many good childhood memories.. Would love to be able to do the same for my granddaughter.

  • Reply Karina July 4, 2017 at 11:23 AM

This book looks gorgeous! My little boy will be turning 1 in a few months so seeing as I’ve never planned a kids party before this book would be super helpful!

  • Reply Evelyn Rooke July 4, 2017 at 11:09 AM

Well! As I approach 2nd Trimester with my first baby (after trying for 3 years! And it wasn’t easy…), I’ll probably have to start learning how to throw parties like this soon ??

  • Reply Sophie July 4, 2017 at 11:08 AM

Oh boy, this looks like such a beautiful book. I have many happy memories of the hours spent deliberating over that special cake book as a child. I know my girls would love this one!

  • Reply Kate Nancarrow July 4, 2017 at 10:24 AM

Oh, Pip – you always share THE BESTEST things. And this looks like such a ‘you’ book. And funnily enough my ‘party’ books are quite near the Pip Lincolne books on my bookshelf… there’s definitely a vacancy though…

  • Reply Caitlin O'Connor July 4, 2017 at 9:57 AM

I need to win this book because I want to give it to my sweet sewing friend, who has the cutest little daughter and they would both enjoy these ideas so much! ( of course, I’d like to read it first, then wrap it…)

  • Reply Lisa July 4, 2017 at 9:24 AM

My daughters’ birthdays (ages 7 & 9) are the highlight of our year. We would love to read this together for inspiration. <3

  • Reply Pia Nock July 4, 2017 at 9:09 AM

Kids parties are the way so many of us find to get creativity in our lives after we have kids! As well as a rad time spent with the kids in deciding and preparing a theme. It’s also a beautiful gift for friends and family kids to throw them a great party ? I would love a look at what seems to be a next level comprehensive companion in the scene!!

  • Reply Kerry July 4, 2017 at 9:06 AM

What a beautiful looking book! Love all the ideas within!

  • Reply Louisa July 4, 2017 at 8:40 AM

With sons aged 3.5 and 5 we are definitely entering the party zone. Half the fun lies in the dreaming and planning. This book looks like a fabulous catalyst for both! ??

  • Reply Fiona Mitchell July 4, 2017 at 8:31 AM

I am a big kid, with 3 big kids of my own and 3 of us all love parties….the other one is a Grinch, but this might inspire her to join in the festivities

  • Reply Nicole Collier July 4, 2017 at 8:31 AM

This book looks so gorgeous! I just want to sit in the winter sun with a coffee and devour every page. Nearly every year I have thrown a themed party for my girls and I love it! I’m always looking for new ideas. Thanks for the opportunity to win!
