#flashbackfriday

Flashback Friday is back over here! I, for one, used to LOVE it when Angela hosted Flashback Friday all those years ago. I am, in fact, obsessed with old school blogging and the old school blogging community, so I thought it would be good to revive it amongst our bloggy tribe! So here’s my first post. All the details on how to play and link up your own blog or Instagram photo are over here.

So. This is my Flashback Friday post:

I am wearing a skirt made either by my Mum or Dad, I think. Our carpet is orange. Yes. It’s orange. I am not sure why. I am posing in front of a (dusty) planter full of green leafy things. I have probably been told to sit there to get a nice shot. I’m wearing a green skivvy because we lived in Hobart, Tasmania and it was frosty a LOT of the time (especially on Mount Nelson where this was taken.)

My hair has been trimmed by someone who lives at my house. I am not sure who, but it’s cut in a bit of an ABBA do. At this time in my life my favourite album would have been ABBA ARRIVAL, so I probably think I look exactly like Agnetha. (I never was sure how to say her name back then!) I’m looking into the distance, probably at my brother giving my younger sister a bit of a tackle. Or possibly wishing I had one of those cat jumpsuits that the Abba gals sported.

I think that someone has helped me to spread my skirt out neatly, to feature it at its best. You can just see a bit of shiny black Mary-Jane peeking out the side. Shiny shoes were my absolute favourite as a child, especially shiny clogs.

After this photo was taken I most probably:

a) skipped off to read My Friend Flicka
b) went down the back into the bush to make cubbies
c) headed to the Sandy Bay deli for one of those lollipops with the flowers on them (and the striped edges) or
d) lay on the carpet in front of the heater to eat cake and watch Sesame Street (which I still love)

My hair is still a lot like this. It doesn’t really do what it’s meant to do, but BOY does it try hard.

Happy Flashback Friday!

Write soon!

x Pip

PS: Will you play too?
