Hello!

I got home at 3am on Sunday morning and have wasted NO TIME doing a few nice things (including a bit of dozing on the couch!) Here’s a little catch-up…

Drinking
Aperol Spritz which I had never had until I went to Heart Attack and Vine with Rin. Now we are making them at home as an afternoon tipple and they are so deliciously refreshing and yum! The recipe is on the back of the Aperol bottle (if you are not sure how to make them and you fancy trying!)

Reading
Still in the Heart Attack and Vine mood, I’m one third of the way through reading The Strays. If you want to read an ace Australian story, the you should read this book. I am super-loving it! Like SO SO much. I don’t want to tell you too much, but you can find out more here if you want to do that.

Eating
Home-y food after ten days away from it. What a pleasure to have a cold lamb sandwich or a some toast and Promite! (But don’t get me wrong, the food in Ubud was so yummy!)

Watching
We went to the movies this afternoon to watch Boyhood (because my friend Lisa recommended it to me!) It was beautiful and I cried about eight times. Have you seen it? I love Patricia Arquette and the movie brought up so many feelings about families and boys growing up… It’s a great film. *sob* (Afterwards we went to Tiamo and hoovered down some pasta and garlic bread! All of the carbs, some of the time!)

I’m feeling like I’ve recovered from travelling really quickly and am ready to do fun stuff and have some nice times with the people I like. Ari has gone off to camp today, so I’m saving his/my fun times for when he returns on Wednesday. I am thinking Indian food for dinner, camp gossip and some only-from-home treats for then.

How about you? Have you been well while I’ve been away? I feel a bit out of touch, but we will soon remedy that!

Smooches!

x Pip

    Hi Pip,
Just wanted to say thanks for recommending The Strays, I borrowed it from the library (where it was immediately available – amazing!) and although have only just started, so far really enjoying it. That garden sounds amazing, with the switchgate and apple barn.

    Hey Hey Pip,
I am very glad to hear you are having such a great time in your life.
I have been having a fine time myself. I have been very focused with my blog since completing your Blog With Pip course and am always feeling inspired by your blog. Oh, Oh, Oh…guess what?! I bought your book Make Hey! My partner and I absolutely poured over it the night I bought it. We especially loved all the photos of your cute little things, plus we loved the bike photo. Xx

Ooh, I love an Aperol! Very refreshing! That book looks fab! I haven’t seen Boyhood but I’ve heard it’s great. I’m hoping to see Finding Vivian Maier this weekend may scoff some carbs before or after that too!

    Hi Pip,
I like that you have nice times wherever you are!
While you were away, I started a new job. Yes I did! It’s good.
I also just put my first clip up on YouTube. Eek!
I’m looking forward to reading about your return to home-y life and fun times leading up to Christmas.

    Welcome home Ms Pip!
How refreshing are Aperol Spritz’s?! They’ve been my go-to Summer drink for many years. I love to add slice of fresh lime, orange and lemon to mine.
That book sounds GREAT! I’ll be adding it to my list. I have about four books on the go at the moment.
Boyhood is such an AMAZING movie isn’t it?! I cried many times too and it bought up a lot of growing up stuff and memories for me too. Especially the Alcoholic Dad 🙁
I think it should have been called “growing up” or “life”. Glad you are home, safe and sound and back in to all things Pip. X
